Broken Belt...measured 88" x 1/2" flat belt
The customer had removed the top cover hinges and the rear cover plate to recover the broken belt. I first removed the four screws holding the front panel and tilted it out to allow access for the new belt. The drum dropped about 2-3". Fed the new belt over the drum with the printing'This Side Up' facing me, lifted the drum up as I closed the front cover over the felt on the front rim of the drum. Replace dhtew four screws. Door switch leads were long enough to allow the front cover to tilt forward so did not remove. Next engaged the motor pully and tension pulley, then rotated the drum manually to assure tracking and no twist in the belt. Vacuumed the wall passthrough pipe, the flex vent tubing and the motor compartment of lint. Closed up the back cover and drove the 52 miles back to my shop.

Dryer was making a noise like scraching a black board.
The repair went very well. The biggest problem was the spring on the tension roller when putting back together. But it just takes a little bit of patients and it was fine.Works great now.

began as intermittent squeal then became more louder and frequent
removed top-removed front-removed belt-removed drum (I didn't know how the drum came out WITH the bearing so I unscrewed the 3 middle screws on the back of the drum which released it from the bearing)- removed the bearing-that was when I knew what to order. installed the bearing on the drum before assembling all in reverse order. I wasn't sure how much grease to use so I used about 1/3 of it.

Thumping noise coming from back of dryer
I viewed the video from your site (Parts Select's) and followed those directions... which took the guess work out of the job and made it simple. Also the video alerted me to small ball bearing in the back which might have caused some head scratching if not for viewing the video. While everything was apart I did spend extra time cleaning. Many THANKS to Parts Select and the courteous parts person that I spoke with and placed my order with.
