DBB5000GF0GG General Electric Dryer - Instructions

I had a squeaky dryer. Replaced belt to no avail. Then ordered new glides and idler pulley wheel. The glides are a snap. However, the idler pulley took a little more effort. I'm a big guy and it's hard to repair on the floor. I placed the dryer on it's face, removed the plate off the back rear and reached in to replace the pulley. I advise folks to remove the three screws that hold the frame for the electrical and push it out of the way. That provides the room to remove the pulley. The cap nut is hard to get off, I recommend using small pliers to rock it/unscrew it. I reused the same cap even though I had ordered a new one. The new one is too hard to get started in a small space. Again, do yourself a favor and place the dryer on it front. Much easier on the back. By the way, I didn't think the pulley was going to stop the noise, because the old one didn't look worn. However, it did. And no, it wasn't the glides. I installed them first and restarted the dryer and had the same squeal. The new pulley wheel did the trick.

Removed the top by removing the two screws in the top of the door. Then removed the front by removing a screw on each side. To remove the bearing I had to remove the light bulb and then pull from the top. It popped right out. Installed the new bearing, inserted the slides. Although it still looked in good shape, I replaced the felt seal since I had the front open. Reinstalled the door and the top and I was done. Easy Peasy, Saved myself over $100.

Followed the online demonstration on the website when i ordered the part. The video was outstanding and easy to follow. I now have the confidence to make other minor appliance repairs.

This was a really easy repair. The parts fit perfectly and the video instruction was spot on. Use the video instruction as guidance and you'll do just fine.

Took the back off/there were six phillips head screws. Took the protective cover off the Interlock Switches and found the problem. One of the buttons was jambed and would not move. I pulled the switch up and pulled the connecting wires. This took a little bit of doing as the connectors have been set for over 8 years. I used a pair of needle nose pliers. I reconnected the new switch and punched both switches and the washer started. It was an easy repair after that, putting everything back in reverse order.

I watched the installtion video and actually did it faster than the video and yes you do have to be careful of sharp edges I did cut one finger. Other than that no problem I was all back together and using the dryer in less than 15 minutes

Removed back panel. Removed front knob by pulling toward front of washer. Released the existing switch by giving a twist from behind. Transferred wires to new replacement Inserted and twisted new switch into place. Reattached back panel.

At first diagnosed the problem watching you tube videos but I did not open the machine. It took awhile to learn the first step to diagnose the issue is to find out if the squeak comes from the front or back of the machine. Mine was in the front. Once I did this I ordered the glides. When they arrived I opened up the machine and found out both the glides and the plastic piece upon which the drum turns and the glides attach were totally shot. I then ordered up that plastic piece. The repair was a breeze. Opening the machine, installing the pieces and closing up took about half an hour max. My reaction is the engineering behind these pieces is not up to par. Seemingly paper thin plastic can't stand up to the constant turning of the drum. As an ordinary consumer I expect much better. The old adage that they don't build em like they used to applies here. I was surprised by what was under the hood as they say. I almost had bought a new machine, and also consulted a repairmen which led me to believe a new machine would be my best option. However, I gave it a shot after doing some internet research and solved the problem for a fraction of the cost. And while I was in there I cleaned out the stray lint!!

I found out how to take the dryer apart from the video, after finding out what the problem was I order the part and put it back together. The video made the operation easy.

I'm a 90 pound mother of 4you and was able to fix this problem all by myself. Very easy!

Had to remove more parts than I wanted to but I had no choice. After getting unit back together and running I was relieved that I saved a ton of money.

Followed the online video & it was very easy to do ! We initially called a repair person who told us it would cost $150-$200 to fix , but he could sell us a used one he had that was newer for less !! My wife got on the internet & found the site and video to order parts & do it yourself which was really easy and cost about %45,00 to do !!!

First I turned off the breaker to the dishwasher. I then removed the bolts that held on the inner cover(note the two small bolts go on the bottom one on each side). I lifted the switch up and disconnected the wire clips from each side. I then put the new switch in place with the wires attached. Then replaced the cover and screwed it into place. Closed the door and flipped the breaker back on and turned the dish washer on and it started up. A very easy replaceable part.

Took off the top cover then took off the front panel and installed the new coils on gas valve.

1. Unplug. 2. Remove 4 screws with hex screwdriver. 3. Remove 2 left Knobs. 4. Lean panel Forward. 5. Remove Switch by depressing clip and twisting from Slot. 6. Take off one wire at a time from old switch and replace on new switch. 7. Lean Panel forward and reinstall 4 screws. 8. Replug and turn on Dryer. AMAZING HOW SIMPLE IT WAS. THIS IS THE 3RD SWITCH IN 9 YEARS. THE FIRST TIME IT COST $45 FOR SERVICE CALL PLUS $20 FOR PART. I REPLACED 2 TIMES FOR $15 EACH TIME (Includes shipping cost of part.
