refrigerator inside temp rising above 40 degrees - coil froze up with ice.
when temp in frig rises above 40 and does not cool back down, check your coil behind the back panel of freezer. to remove panel, look for 2 phillips heads on either side of top of panel and remove. then gently slide top of panel out from under lightbulb - then, swing left side of panel out first and panel will then come completely out. if coil is full of ice, use hairdryer to defrost completely. before using hairdryer, put a couple of sponges in catch tray below defroster at bottom of panel area. as the water melts during hairdryer use, take sponges out and wring water into bucket. once the coils are ice free, look at defrost heater. to do this, remove screws on either side of heater. then, GENTLY pull out 2 or 3 inches and STOP. look at tube in center of heater - if it's black or unclear in any way, the heater is bad and will need replaced. now that heater has been pullled out a couple of inches, GENTLY remove the 2 wires by pulling out each from it's socket - then take faulty heater completely out and throw away. take new heater and reconnect the 2 wires - put screws in each hole then slide heater back into place and reconnect the screws with screwdriver - take out sponges in catch tray - reinstall the back panel and you're done! when doing this repair it isn't necessary to disconnect power to frig by unplugging - but i do it anyways.

Refrigerator and freezer not cold enough
First, depending on when you find out your problem, be prepared to toss out spoiled food. Unplug the unit. Since you must allow the ice build up on the coil to melt, be prepared for water. Use towels placed under the coil in the freezer to soak this up or it will end up on the floor. Remove ice maker bucket as the ice will melt, that is if there is any. In my case the defrost timer was bad but I later learned that my defrost heater was also bad. Do yourself a favor and change both the defrost timer and defrost heaters. This issue is generally an age issue so replacing both will give you peace of mind. Also, clean the whole freezer as this is the time to do it. You will be surprised at the ice maker bucket cleanliness. Time to prepare and clean is what takes additional time. Time to repair is short and simple. One last thing, when replacing the defrost timer try not to mess with the temp. control slides as you will have to put them back in the proper positions for reassembly of the cover.

ice maker was spewing water into freezer
Ordered this part after i replaced the plastic tubes on the back as the problem persisted. loosen the nuts holding the water inlet lines, remove the cover to the valve. remove the valve and the water inlet line to the the valve. Disconnect the 2 outlets from the valve. 1 outlet to icemaker and other outlet to water cooler (bigger). Connect water inlet and 2 outlets to the new valve, test the water lines. Found the inlet is leaking, removed it and added teflon tape and reconnect it. All is done. Then I left the freezer door open for 3 hours to melt the ice on the wrong places and all is well.
