my ice maker quit working
I watched the video from the link that was sent to me with the shipping notice. It was very easy to understand. I had no trouble at all. I'm 75 years old woman, however, and I can fix about anything. Don't be afraid to fix appliances yourself if you feel you have the knowledge.

Old Icemaker Stopped Making Ice
Instructions that came with the part were useless. I would have created new problems if I had attempted to follow the instructions. However, once I had the old part removed and put it beside the new part, required repair process was obvious, easy and quick. Frig now makes ice better than it ever did.

Icemaker does not make ice
I'm a housewife in her late 40's. Before ordering the part, I watched your video on how to remove and install the new icemaker. First I unplugged the refrigerator. After a few minutes, I unplugged the icemaker and unscrewed it. I lifted it a bit and removed it. I did not use the icecup that comes with the part. Instead I removed the one from the old part and inserted it to the new one. Then I plugged in the new icemaker, placed it inside so as to match the holes and screwed it in. YES, it was that simple. It took me less than 10 minutes to do this. I saved myself over $100!!

Lateral split in original 5/16 poly tubing at rear of refrigerator for water dispenser
Located the split in original tubing - only visible when the water dispenser is activated. Using a razor blade knife, cut the tubing 4 to 6 inches on each side of the split. Remove the bad pieceof tubing and use as a length guide to mark the new 5/16 tubing. Install a 5/16 union connector on each end of the new tubing, careful not to overtighten the plastic union hex nuts. Place the new tubing with unions where the bad tubing was, tighten the union hex nuts, and bingo you're done. Left mine setting out for a day to watch for leaks. Took longer to get the two wrenches and pull the fridge out than it did to repair the tubing. This is the only place I found 5/16 unions and tubing in short lengths. Thanks

Broken 5/16 line from filter to water tank in fridge
Others have described how to do this repair better. I will simply add - if you're cutting the line inside the fridge to repair/replace be sure to check as their are two (2) clear 5/16th lines. Once goes from the solenoid to the tank inside the fridge and another from the tank up to the filter. They're identical and side by side. Remove the drawers and foam covering the one line to make sure you cut the right one...otherwise you will be ordering a 2nd water tube union like I did.
