Fridge and Freezer not cold
My Amana side-by-side fridge (Model: SCD23VW) took a dump the other day. Both sides were very warm. About $150 in new parts fixed the whole shebang.
1st items: overload relay with capacitor
2nd items: Bi-metal Defrost Thermostat and a Defrost Timer Switch
3rd item: Evaporator fan motor
I think it was a combination of things that caused the failure. Heck, all the repairs were super easy and now my fridge is rock solid. The bi-metal defrost thermostat was purchased at a local store. It just had the thermostat and 2 brown wires. Replacing the entire harness is not necessary. I simply cut wires, striped the, and used wire nuts for speedy repair. (Took 4 min)

Cantilevered utility bin was broken
removed the broken bin, which was extrememely easy and set in the new one, equally as easy. The telephone staff were extremely helpful, and courteous, especially John, who took a great amount of time helping me find the correct part. Thank all of you.
