the task itself was simple, the freezer being on the bottom of refrigerator made it difficult for a 84 yr. man to get to. It did take a long time for the icemaker to kick in..
I removed the old icemaker, took it out to my shop & removed the wiring and etc. and put it back in place.

Ice buket would freeze up on into the intake tube
After a visit to your site, reading the different posts I was able to narrow my problem down to the dual water valve. The replacement part fit prefect. After I got the old part out I was able to blow air past the valve showing the valve did not shop water after filling the ice tray. When the supply of water didn't stop it froze up in the tube filling the ice ray.

I could have tested the old valve before I ordered the part by switching the output sides of the valve and water would have leaked to the drinking water supply inside the door to confirm what my problem was but I'm very happy with the repair and the company Thanks

Big water leak
Bought this refrigerator secondhand from someone who was upgrading. They stored it on an unheated porch. When I connected the water line it started spraying everywhere. Removing the service panel showed the dual water valve had fractured and there was a big hole in the side. Replacement was fairly easy, but getting the existing hoses out of the sockets required a lot of prying. I have only attempted appliance repair a couple of times before.
