Light in the refrigerator didn't work
I did exactly as the video showed. I popped out the old switch, disconnected the two terminals, connected the new switch and put it back. The light now works! The refrigerator is over 25 years old and the switch works! What a great website this is. Couldn't of done the job without Partselect's help.

No/little water getting to ice maker
Repair was fairly easy. Original equipment has a plastic compression nut and a spring inserted in the tube to keep it from kinking. Neither of these is needed for the replacement part. Pulled out the spring with a needle nose pliers and cut the tube with a razor blade. IMPORTANT - it must be cut square and clean, no angles or burrs and a razor blade does a good job. Also, make sure the tube is pushed all the way in and then check for leaks. Mine leaked horribly and I discovered it was not seated all the way in the valve. I still did not have any water in the ice maker and discovered that, due to the prior valve failing, only a trickle of water was getting in and it caused the fill tube to freeze solid. I pulled that out of the back of the freezer and thawed it in a bowl of warm water and the ice plug came out (it was about 5" long). Inserted it back in and, voila, ice maker worked!

After several defrost thermocouple replacements, and determining the frig was running constantly, the freezer was not freezing, but full of ice behind the back panel, the frig was not chilling, the entire refrigerator was constantly running, non-stop, and after doing a bit more research on-line, I d
Thanks for the control board. However, it arrived in two days not overnight, UPS noted on their tracking site the error was their own. Also, the part did not come with installation instructions or programming instructions. Found on youtube a video that described in detail the programming procedure: . . . . . very helpful.

Thanks,
Marc

Freezer Super Cold, Fridge Hot. Ice on the back of freezer door.
I initially thought the defrost heater or sensor were bad and replaced them. About a week later the problem reappeared. I ordered the control board assembly and after arrival I did the following: Went on-line, located the part on the fridge parts diagrams and figured out how to remove the controller cover (use two flat screwdrivers from behind). After the cover removal unplug the two connectors and lift out the sensor from its mount. Remove the LED Display/Button Board then the microcontroller board. They literally lift out. With the new controller you have to gently break the display board from the controller - the board is scribed along the break-away area. Do this on a flat surface. The actual board installation and hook-up took less than 5 minutes to reassemble. MAKE SURE THE REFRIGERATOR IS UMPLUGGED - I should have said that FIRST.

Ice Maker stopped working. Already replaced Photo Eye
Top left mounted Icemaker facing front. Disconnect power to fridge. Using 1/4" nut driver remove single silver nut under right rear side. It holds a plastic cover over the electrical connection, unhook the cover and remove it. Release clips under front lip under both sides and entire icemaker will slip and twist out. Remove electrical connection to ice tray. Place assembly on bench and remove 3- 1/4 hex screws from under side to release bottom tray. Snap cover off motor and remove. Carefully align pin and arm on control assembly to ice tray and-re assemble. May take 30 min to dispense. Discard till clear.

bottom grille cover clip broke
To clip it in was easy. The hard part was getting down to do it. I'm 78, hubby is 80 and because of the fridge width it took both of us since we have a bottom freezer drawer. We don't get down or even up very well anymore. The part fit fine and looks great. The part arrived in less than 24 hours which pleasantly surprised us. Thanks much.!
