took to long to preheat and food wasn't cooked on the bottom
First, I want to say that this part arrived within 24 hours of placing the order. I was plesantly suprised. My husband did the repair and it was super easy. We had no problems.
I took out the old part and we went on line and found everything from your PartSelect and ordered it. The part worked great and we received the part in two days. Thanks so much, you saved us lots of money and the oven works wonderful. I have told many people about your company and how much we like the help from you. Paul from Quincy, IL
I made the mistake of thinking that, if the oven was off, there would be no voltage to the heating element. Wrong! I removed the element, wearing rubber gloves just for safety, and had no problem. But when I put the wiring back on the new element and tried to slide it into the hole at the back of the oven, one of the wires brushed the metal, sparks flew, and melted one of the wires. Even though the oven was off, this wire was hot. The solution was, of course, just to turn off the circuit breaker, reconnect the wire, and slide the element back in. It works fine now.
Turned off the circuit breaker. Removed the oven door from hinges. unscrewed the old element connection plate. Pulled off two wire leads. Reversed forward steps to completion.
Loosened the two screws holding the element, pulled the element out of the back of the oven, loosed the two wire leads connected to the back of the element, removed the broken part, placed the new element into the oven, reconnected the wire leads, pushed them back into the insulation in the back of the oven, repositioned the element into its place and replaced the two screws holding it into place with the new screws that came with the new part. Oven element fired right up first try without any further complications. One of the easiest appliance fixes I have ever done!
turned off power unscrewed plate that held in element unplugged socket from old element plugged in new one screwed plate back turned on power works fine
Very simple. Removed two screws-pulled element out about 3-4 inches-pulled off the contacts-reversed procedure using the provided screws, turned the breaker switch on and everything worked fine. Excellent service from parts select and quick shipping.
