Spring on door closer broke
Found the broken spring; matched it with parts diagram. Googled for sources via part number. Selected this site because it had best deal - price, availability, shipping. Part arrived as predicted; installed it in 2 minutes. Job done. Door now works.
I installed the new 3 wire ice maker very easily, but it was defective. I was told that instructions for the return of the defective part would be sent later due to the virus. I have never received the return instruction. I did receive a credit for the defective part. VERY Satisfied with y’all’s service. Waiting for return instructions if y’all still want it back. Removed two screws from door and three locking brackets with a small common screw driver. Raised the bracket, slide in the spring, held down the bracket, installed screws and plastic covers. Less than 2 minutes. Easy application no problem with the new spring or ,mullion..
I actually took a picture of the correct spring installation at a big box store that carried LG. I had called LG, but they said they didn't have any installation brochures, and to call a registered LG repairman. That was out of the question, since the repairman would charge $100 just to show up.
I looked at the picture I took. Used needle nose pliers and inserted one end. Unless the lady of the house is very strong, this should be handled by a man, because of the rigid spring. Once the spring was inserted into one side of the flap, I used the pliers to get the other end into the proper slot. Very easy, but the spring is very strong !!
Thanks to videos on You-Tube which showed step by step removal and replacement. It was a simple process. only thing missing on the video was information on the green ground wire.
The repair was an easy replacement. The problem was the LG part was no longer available from LG or any of the other places I tried. The PartSelect customer service representative was a true professional and did an outstanding job of helping find the correct part (LG's diagram was unreadable) and cross-referenced it to find the the part that PartSelect actually had in stock. I had the part in four day. The best customer service I have had in years. I lost his name but the order was 13449146. He deserves a raise!
I ordered the needed parts, the correct ones I thought, but when they arrived, I realized they were the wrong parts shipped to me. The reason the wrong parts were shipped to me was because PartsSelect failed to advise me there were none of the parts I needed available so they shipped the left hand basket assembly, door, versus the desired right hand basket assembly, door. I then had to return the wrong parts shipped to me, at my cost of ~$25, and await a refund for the wrong parts originally shipped to me. That's how I did the repair.

Expensive to have repair man come out and find out that I’ve been mailed wrong spring again. My icemaker is on the left hand side this is the side of refrigerator- I need the spring for left side with the ice maker. Twice they have mailed me the Wrong spring that goes on the right hand side I have tried to explain this to the person that waits on me. Do I have to pay for another spring and mail this one back ?i have mailed one back and postage is getting expensive.

Called a local repair shop to get the problem diagnosed. Nice repair guy came out and was pretty confident that it was the main board . However his supplier had it on backorder and had a 7 day shipment estimate. When he told me I got on the internet and parts select had the part in stock with a 2-3 business day arrival. I rolled the dice and ordered it. Came the next day via Fed x. It took me 15 minutes to put it in and so far so good. Without the diagnosis I would have been in the dark as to what was wrong so it was worth the fee for the service call to get an expert diagnosis
unfortunately my fridge stopped working. I purchased another but wanted to try and repair the old one. when ew one arrived, the old one was supposed to be put in garage but instead was hauled away. Had delivery return next day but they had as already removed and lost the handle screw for the bottom freezer and the screw that holds handle in place. ordered the handle screw and picked up the nut. very simple to install the screw and put handle back on.
