Paint flaking off beater; flakes got into food.
I used the website to find the appliance, but had to call the help number because the model number had one extra 'B'. I was told that this was only for the color (black). Using the chart I found the part number and ordered it. It arrived in about 3 days (regular shipping). No repair was needed beyond snapping the new part in to replace the old one.

All that was required was a screwdriver and about 5 minutes. I removed the broken latch and screwed in the new one. Good as new. I am not a mechanical genius, but this repair can be done by about 98% of people.

Broken worm gear
Knob fell out of the front of the mixer into the bowl and jammed the beater. This caused the motor to strip the plastic worm gear. Open unit to investigate and found about 4 teeth missing out of the worm gear. Ordered a replacement. Installed the new gear once received in about 30 minutes. Wife is now happy again.
