Ice maker had no water and quit making ice
I removed the old ice maker as described by the DIY video and had no problem except, I had to remove the ice tray from the motor section so the end cap could be changed. This only required removal of two Phillips screws on the case of the motor assembly, that are used to to secure the tray. Once the tray was off, the ice ejector could be removed and the end cap was free to change. Everything was re-installed in reverse order and unit was mounted. An FYI to anyone with slow ice making, will need to check their freezer temperature. Make sure it's set to get as cold as 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit. After installing new maker, it was not making ice fast enough, only to find my freezer temperature needed to be changed as well. Everything is working as it should now.

Meat Drawer Cover Hinge Broke
The nipple on the "pantry end cap - left side" that acted as part of the hinge for the meat drawer cover broke off. After receiving the replacement pantry end cap, I removed the meat drawer, removed the 2 vegetable bins, removed the glass shelf above the meat drawer, removed the screws holding the old pantry end cap, and pulled the old cap out. Then I put the new cap in place, screwed it in, and replaced everything else. The most surprising part of all of this is that I ordered my part on 4/22 and received and installed it on 4/25; 3 days! Thank you partselect for your fast response.

Ice maker would not make ice
The ice maker was easily replaced, however I still had no ice. I ended up using an on-line repair service which determined that the problem was the water inlet valve. Replacing it was beyond my expertise so I hired an appliance repairman.

Cover to bottom bin would not stay secured. broken plastic support pin
Removed Left side support with broken pin (3 small hex head bolts). Replaced with new support with pin in place. Note behind: I broke the pin trying to replace the cover. Now I know to flex back the side to the cover, and not flex the pin which broke. This cost me 25 bucks and one hour, saving me from a probable $300 dollar charge. THANKS, PARTS SELECT!!!!!

Ice maker dripped water to make one large icecube
After reading the articles previous owners wrote, I tackled the repair. There were no big problems until I had to change out the water line on the icemaker tray--that part was for a different frig--so it had to be changed out with the Amana water line part that was enclosed. I couldn't get that part removed, so I had to have my husband change it out. He then finished the installation. Everything went smoothly, just my pride wanted me to finish it all by myself.

Light switch which turns on the lights when the door opens went out
This is an easy fix, simply remove and replace. What I was impressed with is that a how to video was provided along with my part. I wish all manufactures would offer this, the video was easy to understand and you had a good view of the operation. Thanks, a job well done.

I broke the switch pulling the freezer basket out.
I watched the on line you tube video on how to DIY. The putty knife worked to pop out the switch. I used the standar screwdriver to unplug the switch from the wire harness. Then plug in the new switch and pop it back in to the roof of the freezer. Tip: watch out when ordering the new switch - the freezer switch is different than the refrigerator switch. The freezer has three prongs. The fridge has two. I initially ordered the wrong part and added a week to the repair time and had to pay shipping to return the first switch.

Pantry end cap right side.
Removing the large drawer,2 drawers, glass shelve & 2 end supports, two screws on the sliding track & two screws on the Pantry end cap it took me 15 minutes. When removing the left Pantry end cap on the right side, care must be taken because Center Crisper Rail #PS 162879 is attached to the Pantry End cap at the back & real care must be taken to remove it. After all the screws are removed pull the end cap carefuly towards you while moving all to the left until it clears the back wall of the refrigerator. Again, real care must be taken using a flat head screwdriver to remove the plastic track for the Center Crisper Rail. The Pantry End Cap on the left is a lot easier to remove than the right side.
