Functioning Switch is normally closed in the "light on" with door open and normally open in. the "tumble motor off" position. It failed in the opposite position; (dryer motor would run with door open or shut) but could not switch on the light when door was open. Switch was stuck in the failed posit
Power off by removing plug from wall outlet. Remove two Phillips screws under lint screen filter door. (careful you don't drop them down the filter housing) Pry upper lid loose at both front corners and elevate and retain the lid vertically. Separate old 3 wire switch connector splice halves at upper right housing corner. Remove two Phillips screws at upper right corner of outer front doorway which hold switch. Install new switch with those two screws. Re-connect the connector splice halves; they are keyed for one direction. Close down lid. Plug in power cord.

Light Didnot Go On, Unit Did Not Stop When Door Was Opened
Video showed 3 ways to remove the top section to access the switch. None of which worked on my unit. Instead there were 4 screws on the rear section of the control panel that had to be removed and then lift it past the top of unit to slide forward to remove top to access the switch after that all was the same as video.

The water level switch was easy to install, it ws getting the cover on the washer back on that was hard for me since I am 68 yrs old and have a bad knee. Dryer kept running when the door was open, no light
I followed the directions on your site. I pulled out the filter on the top of the machine. Then removed the two screws where the filter is located, I am not sure I would have found those screws had it not been for your directions. I then pulled up on the top of the machine by grabbing the sides near the front of the top, it came right up. I then raised it enough to place a broom handle to hold the top up so I could reach the switch. I removed the two screws holding the switch and then pulled the connector apart. I then replaced the switch with the two screws and plugged the connector back together. Removed the broom handle and closed the top and replaced the two screws I removed by the filter. Replaced the filter and started the machine running and opened the door and it turned off and the light came on. It took me about twenty minutes.
