We bought our replacement burners from Part Select.com at half the price of another major appliance store. They came fast & fit perfect. All around, we are very happy.
pop up range top. pull off old burner. put on new one. close top. check for rocking. install leveling washer. check again. 2nd burner didn't require leveling so it was quicker.
one of the stove top burners had burned all the way through
matched part needed on web site; took off burner; ordered part; received it on the third day and easily replaced it. Wonderful, easy, and very short delivery time! Thanks.
We had to buy two dubble burner assemblies because one burner was out on each old assembley
The burner assembly was for my wifes daughter. She raised the top of the stove removed the old burners and set the new ones in place she also used the set washer and it works just fine.
Deflector oven/gas flame deflector replaced due to hole melted from glowbar igniter
Removed oven convection fan cover for more room to remove/replace lower oven bottom. Deflector is attached underneath oven bottom and you will need new self tapping sheet metal screws to replace old ones. My deflector actually had hole melted in it from glowbar igniter directly underneath it. Glowbar remains white hot until selected oven temp is reached...poorly designed.
The double burner assembly had years of gunk so the burn was not clean.
The old double burners lifted off. Before the new burner could be set down into place, the area had to be completely cleaned using a flat blade screwdriver and damp rag. This allowed the new burners to seat properly in place. That is it.
1st lift out the heavy steel griddle. 2nd test pilotless igniter. 3rd check the primary flame. 4th locate part # on the safety valve assy. I never heard of the brand "Five Star" and I couldn't find any documentation for it either. An internet search finally informed me it came from the Brown Stove Works in TN. I then learned that some models were sold with GE badging (labeling) which me got to Part Select dot com's catalog where I found an image of the part I needed. 5th order the part 6th install the valve and reassemble the burner 7th test 8th put griddle back in place
