Ice maker wasn't making ice
Pulled out the icemaker. Switched out the Motor Assembly (so easy) and woke up the next morning with ice. Our ice dispenser wasn't working either. This repair inspired me to take the ice dispenser apart and I found that the lever arm wasn't touching the contact when pressed. We now have ice and a working ice despenser. Oh yeah--my wife was so impressed. The part came in on time and it was very very easy to replace.

Ice Maker inlet valve stuck open
Shut water off to stop leak. Purchased new valve but it had different size fittings. Proper hardware was not included with the new part and was not available from PartSelect or Whirlpool, the maker of KitchenAid. I'm a paraplegic so my brother came over after I got the parts and the hardware. He was able to install the valve but it didn't work while he was here so he shut off the water supply and I'll have to wait and see if it works some other time. Until then, looks like I'll be using trays.

Plastic peice broke in the icemaker control
Unpluged the refrigerator. Removed the cover on the control unit by inserting a screw driver under the metal clips. Removed the three screws frrom the front of the control unit. Pulled toward the back of the refrigerator on the metal loop which turns the icemaker on and off and it came loose where it goes into the control unit. Wiggled the unit and it came free. place the new unit in approximately the right position. Reached into the icemaker and moved the ice eject leavers so the shaft would enter the control unit with the flat side of the ejector in the right position. Gently pushed the control unit into its place and aligned the screw holes. Replaced the three screws. Inserted the wire shut off loop into the hole on the back of the control unit housing. Pluged in the electric. The ice maker worked.

Ice maker quit cycling & producing ice.
I removed the on/off bail wire. I then removed the cap over the motor/control panel. I removed the 3 screws, lifted old unit out, installed new unit and then put everything back together. I had ice within 12 hours and it's run like a top since. I am a 64 y/o widow & I try to repair everything myself to save money. I'm very pleased with Part Select & will recommend them to everyone. Awesome shipping time too. Ordered on Thurs. Received on Fri. Fixed on Friday afternoon!
