I called in a repairman, who wasn't sure what the problem was but suggested it "might" be the electronic control boards. He charged me $55 for the service call, which I initially thought was reasonable. Then I found your website purely accidentally. I watched the video several times and read all of the comments posted. I then decided I would wait to see what the repairman would quote me for the part and the additional labor charge. He told me the part was $125. and the additional service charge was another $75. I decided to order the part, which arrived in 2 days. I am a woman who has never repaired anything on my own, but I decided to take a chance with this. It took me about 20 to 30 minutes to install both parts and within a few hours the first ice cubes fell. I was so proud of myself and very pleased that I found your website. The price of the part was reasonable, the video was very straightforward and all of the comments were extremely helpful. Thank you.

1. Cleared all the food items off the broken shelf. 2. Removed the old shelf. 3. Removed the new shelf from the shipping box. 4. Inserted the new shelf. 5. Replaced food items.

1. Remove the ice-maker/water dispenser cover plate located on the freezer door, by: inserting a putty knife blade at the bottom and freeing up the two retainer tabs; then pushing up. (note: be careful pulling the cover plate, there are many electrical connections on the back).

2. Note the electrical connections on the back of the cover plate and locate the connect close to the inside of the freezer door and disconnect it. (Note: this is much easier than pulling each wire off its connection point and then having to remember which color coded wire went where).

3. Carefully work the door hinge pin back out to the right and remove it and the hinge (Note: in my case the pin was already half way out so the old door couldn't close - and since this model door had a heater which came on because the door was misaligned there was constant flow of warm upwards causing ice to melt, run down and re freeze thus making the door difficult to open).

4. Unscrew the single her head screw holding the small metal piece to the right that retains the know upon which the outer door frame turns. Move the frame to the right to free it and work it out if the way. You now have access to the ice-maker door and hinge pin assy.

I was ready to spend the $$$ on a repair person when my wife (smart woman) suggested I go on line to see if we can fix it ourselves. I (luckly) found your company and your website made it easy to find the right part plus as an extra bonus you had a video that showed how to switch out both control boards. To top it off, the package came so fast ( the next day - even with standard shipping ) I did not think it was the parts. 10 or so minutes with a Phillips screwdriver and we were back in business. I watched the video showing how to disassemble unit and it showed that there was a heat element inside the chute door under the foam seal that needed to be removed and placed in side the new chute door. I spent about 10-15 minutes trying to salvage the element but the adhesive used would not release and the part was rendered unusable. I called the help line and was told that their instructions on that kit said the heating element was no longer required. I finished putting the kit in and the unit works fine

Unplug the Unit first! Unscrewed the sensor covers on both sides. Snap off the old, snap on the new. Replace the covers and screws.

Removed hinged door from front of ice maker. Removed screws from bottom of ice maker. Removed ice maker unit and replaced control board. One pin connection was burnt. Reassembled unit and it works fine.

Ice door would not close thus letting warm air into the freezer compartment. Thinking the spring was broken, I ordered the Ice Door Kit. When it arrived, I dismantled the dispenser and installed the new parts. After installing all the new parts, I found that my problem was the "Y" end of the bracket that holds the spring pin. It was cracked and would not hold the pin. The bracket seemed to be molded into the panel on the outside of the dispenser. To replace the bracket, I would have had to replace the entire outside panel. I decided to repair the bracket and glue the broken piece. I used cyanoacrylate(CA)super glue that I use in model making. Even though that seemed adequate, I decided to drill a small hole through the bracket, perpendicular to the crack, and install a small screw to strengthen the crack. I also applied a little CA to the screw for good measure. It held fast and so far so good!

Went online and found troubleshooting steps for this particular make, model, issue and ordered the parts recommended. Unplugged the refrigerator and removed the screws from the back panel and located the parts easily by using the instructions with pictures provided with the parts. The parts simply popped out without tools and popped back into place. Replaced the back panel and plugged in the refrigerator. Works like new.

Your web site was great. There was a short step by step video on how to remove and replace the ice door kit and tools required. The only additional tool I used was Blue Tape so I could stabilize the inner control panel out of way onto Door.If I need more appliance parts I now know where I am ordering from!!

Neither the OEM instructions nor any of the PartSelect videos explained BOTH ends of the tube for my particular appliance. All very thoroughly covered the obvious connection with the water valve from the wall. However, the push valve end for my KitchenAid is supposed to insert into the water filter chassis, which can barely be seen from the back of the appliance, much less reached with any tool. In order to make the repair, one must either remove the water filter chassis (which I attempted unsuccessfully), or put the appliance up on jacks in order to reach the push valve site.

I decided not to open the package containing the Control and motor asm because the old one looked like it was cycling properly. I chose to try the inlet valve first, so I ordered the inlet valve and returned this part unopened after replacing the valve asm. It took a week to receive this part and just two days to get the valve.

Unplugged it for a day listened to the ice melting on the inside and plug it in again. Decreased the temperature settings and it now seems to work fine. I will save the part in case I ever need it in the future.
