Ref door was making a popping noise
New part was not needed, when I removed lower closing cam the lower part of the closing cam attachment screw had worked it's self lose. So it just needed to be re-torqued. That took care of the problem.

Ice maker sopped producing ice
Initial diagnosis incorrectly led me believe the problem was with the optic eye. After replacing the optic eve and still no ice, I realized the problem had to be with the actual ice maker itself. The removal of the old ice maker and installing of the new one took less than 5 minutes. This of course was after watching the repair video first. I still feel that I saved money by doing the repair myself instead calling in a appliance repair man, even with the added cost of the probable unneeded optic eye replacement. I am very satisfied.

Ice Maker quit working
The ice maker quit working about 4 years after we purchased this refrigerator. I asked several contractors if they knew what the problem could be. All believed it had something to do with the water line being stopped up. However, when I looked at the water line, it seemed fine. Thankfully when I googled about repairing this refrig, I came upon this website. It stated statistically that the Icemaker assembly part was the problem. Guess what? Replaced it and it works! The repair was a little tedious, so I got my next door neighbor to help. He has a few moments struggling getting it out and the new one in, but overall, it was not too difficult. I believe I could have done it with the video's help but certainly would have taken me longer.

Refrigerator door not closing on its own
Remove all items from door. Remove bolt holding plastic cover on top hinge. Support door and remove 3 bolts holding hinge. Lift door off lower hinge pin. Remove bolt holding both cam assy's and pry the one on the door out with the screwdriver. Replace both with the new cams, place door on lower hinge pin, place upper hinge pin into door, loosely insert the 3 bolts. Align the door, tighten the 3 bolts and replace plastic cap/bolt. Put the food back in the door and you're done. The only nut-driver needed is 5/16" and the screwdriver is only needed to pry out the cam that's located on the door itself.

Ice maker quit working, then the fridge & freezer stopped cooling
I actually purchased an ice maker, a combination start device & a run capacitor. I watched the 2 videos which were very helpful, in fact I may not have been able to do this if I had not watched the videos first. It took me step by step. It couldn't have been more simple. I replaced the start device & the run capacitor first just to make sure my fridge would cool again, then when it did, I replaced the ice maker. I saved myself a service call ($59.95) and the labor to replace the ice maker & other parts($140)and that didn't include the parts! By the way I'm female and 71 years old. So if I can do this anyone can.

Ice machine stopped making ice
Open freezer door and close flap on the left being sure not to block the infrared beam. If red light goes solid in a few seconds the Emitter receive and xmit boards are good. Unplugged fridge, Took the ice machine out took off the motor/controller cover and jumpered the two test points together with a short length of insulated wire. place the ice maker back on bracket to free up my hands and plugge in the fridge, turned ice maker on. Closed the flap and ensured red light was on solid and I was not blocking the beam... the motor control wheel did not turn slowly/cycle as it should have with the jumper inserted... Motor/controller assembly was bad. Pulled out icemaker and noticed some corrosion in the ice tray so ordered the entire ice maker instead of just the motor/control assembly... cost only about $30 more. New ice maker arrived and I installed, took about 10 hours before it got cold enough and began making ice.
