I was another one of those women using a pliers to get my 14 year-old, otherwise perfectly functioning, dryer to work! I called two appliance stores that sold Maytags and decided to look online myself when I found out that is what they were doing to find the part I needed. PartSelect came up with a wonderfully easy video and everything I needed to do this repair by myself. Until I saw the video, I had no idea the white flat "knob" came off, so that was a big help. The only hard part was getting the parts separated to put the new dryer skirt knob on! Cheers everyone! This is a success story, and anyone who has a screw driver and pliers can fix this problem!
