I first thought I would buy a new washer, however, after seeing the complaints that purchasers were having with the new models, I decided to repair my old 'trusty' Maytag. I first watched the video that showed the replacement of the parts and followed the directions in the video. Since the washer was old I also cleaned all of the pullies to remove any debris and grease that had accumulated on them over the years. After replacing the pump and belts I ran the washer and it sounded like a new one! I saved myself over $600 by repairing my old washer rather than buying a new one. They don't make washers like they used to.
