When we used the mircowave and put anything with a little weight on the glass tray the unit would make a thumping noise and the glass tray would stop and slip.

I removed the bottom cover of the mircowave. About 6 small phillips head screws. Unpluged the motor and removed the 2 screws holding it in place. Removed the plastic piece that is used to drive the glass plate and attached the new motor to it. Replaced the motor holding screws. Replaced the 6 screws that hold the bottom cover of the mircoware and I was done.
