My fridge isnt staying closed. Would a new gasket solve my problem?

Hello Diane, thank you for reaching out. If your fresh food door is not staying closed, many reasons can cause it. The first major issue is dirt on the gasket. Wipe the seal with warm water and detergent and dry it. Make sure that you clean inside the gasket folds and on all the surfaces to ensure the best possible seal. Also, adjust the hinges. If the doors do not align with the top of the fridge, you may be able to adjust them. If the hinges are already loose, the hinge bolts may just need tightening up a little. Check for obstructions, obstruction inside the appliance could be to blame. A poorly closing fridge door could also be due to the appliance not being completely level. If this does not help, you will need to replace the door gasket, part number PS969881. Good luck with the repair!
