The Microwave won't heat at normal heat settings; eg: from seconds to hours time settings.
First step was to discharge the transformer's capacitor (very important to do), before attempting any microwave repair. I opened the diagram/schematic found inside the microwave oven and followed the technician's troubleshooting steps; checked the capacitor; it checked OK, I checked the diode for a short, it checked OK. I checked the wind
... Read moreings of the transformer that supply the power to the Magnetron; it checked Ok. I proceeded to order the parts; the Magnetron and the sensor located on the top part of the Magnetron. When the parts arrived; I went straight to the location of the Magnetron, I attached the new sensor on the new Magnetron and removed the old one. I connected the harness from the transformer to the new Magnetron and tested the microwave oven and it worked perfectly like a new one. This site has a great deal of information about repairs for the do it-yourself like myself, unlike other appliance's parts websites. Thumbs up to this site, I am very pleased with my order, I received it in a timely fashion as promised. I recommend it to everyone; this site is the best place to shop for appliances parts.
Everything Worked Fine But It Stopped Heating The Food.
Take the four saftey torx screws off the back of microwave that hold the side panels on. There are no screws in the front. Just pick up the side panels a little and slide towards the back of microwave and it will come off. The magnetron is visible behind control panel. Unplug the magetron, take a 3/8 nut driver , remove the one bolt

It took quite a while to put everything back in place because it was a built-in. But it was a lot cheaper than getting a new microwave, even with the cost of a repair man to show me I had a loose wire!

Our microwave is only a couple years old and recently started to spark behind the wave guide cover (right side inner wall). What part is behind it that likely needs replaced? Thanks in advance for any help. Is it something that a diy can do?

Hi Todd, thank you for your question. Usually when you are having sparking inside of your microwave, the part to replace would be your wave guide cover itself there. You will want a licensed technician to test or install these parts, as your microwave's internal parts can contain electrical charges even when the machine is unplugged. Have the technician test the door switch, the magnetron, the thermostat, and the main control board.

My microwave started to spark and the heat stopped.

Hello Buford, thank you for your question. Sometimes if the stirrer cover is burnt or not seated correctly the unit can start to spark. We would recommend inspecting the inside of the microwave and checking for any burn marks or issues with the covers inside the unit. The sparking may have caused the magnetron to become faulty, or the diode which can cause the heating issues. I hope this helps!

My tech repairman said I needed magnetron wb27x10682, however he did not have it in stock. I am unable to locate my microwave PEB7226DF2WW on any websites if I decide to replace the entire unit, is this still available or is there a comparable one? My unit is built in and measures 24 by 13 with trim kit 261/2 by 19. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The touchpad does work , set the timer to start heat.. no problem but it does not start the heating cycle. I opened the microwave and noticed a wire connector going to a heat sensor near the top of the unit was melted. I did change this fuse a year or so ago because nothing would work and had success. I do hear a sound for something trying to start but nothing. Could it be the Magnetron part? thank you..
