Sorry, we couldn't find any existing installation instruction that matched.
Refrigerator unable to cool below 50 degrees
The defrost timer was very easy to replace. Two screws and one electrical bracket and that was it. The defrost thermostat required the removal of the freezer shelves and rear panel. A philips for the panel screws and a slotted screw driver to wedge in-between the side and rear panel. The rear panelcame right out. The defrost thermostat is very accessible simply mounted to a metal bracket on the evaporator coil. My only problem was the new thermostat did not include instructions or a picture of a correct installation. The old thermostat did not seem it was installed correctly and it wasn't. It was simply hanging away from the evaporator coil, sort of out in space. Seeing the "V" shape on the new thermostat and metal mounting bracket configuration it was simple to see that it was suppose to fit snug against the evaporator coil. In addition to using the provided twist-on wire insolators I soldered the two electrical connections leading from the frig to the new thermostat. Reverse the above procedure and the job it finished. Now running better than new.

My freezer is too warm won't freeze and runs too long. I've cleaned the coils verified the air compressor and fan work, tested the defrost timer with meter it's good, door seals good.Could the thermostat be the culprit? Is it in the control panel with the defrost timer. How do i test it?

Hi Mike, thank you for your question. Unfortunately there is no information on how to test a control board. Only a repair technician or someone that knows exactly what they are looking for and how to test it would be able to do that. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
