Single Gas Pressure Regulator and Safety Valve Assembly Specifications
The purpose of the safety valve is to make sure that no gas is released until the igniter gets enough power to ignite the gas range. The purpose of the pressure regulator is that it automatically cuts off the flow of gas at a certain pressure.

Defective Part
Unfortunately, the part was defective. We detected a gas leak after the part was installed. We promptly removed the part and replaced it with a part from another gas range. We are holding the defective part for 90 days in case you need us to return it. We contacted PartSelect and the representative was very helpful in processing a refund.

Burner was bad and gas pressure valve stuck open.
Shut off gas, bled excess and simply removed old defective parts and replaced with new exact replacement parts. Made final air adjustments after first checking for gas leaks. No problems at all. A good rainy day job!

Do we need another part to replace the safety valve for propane range. I bought the part wb19k10044 but the Flame is very high when the stove ignites.
For model number jgbs18det
Hi Marie, Thank you for the question. You will need to remove the cap on the regulator and flip it to LP. Then tighten the orifice down until it bottoms out. Then loosen the orifice 1 and 1/2 turns. Next adjust until the flame is blue. Hope this helps!

My oven doesn't ignite (stovetop burners work fine). I had replaced the igniter once previously and assumed that might be the problem, went to replace it and discovered that one of the connectors for the wires from the controls to the safety valve (the white one in back) is burnt out, and sits loosely on its connection. Can i simply replace the connector ? How can i best tell whether i need to replace the safety valve as well? Thanks
For model number JGBS21HEH2WW
Hi Michael,
Thank you for your question. To verify if the safety valve needs replacing, you will need to uninstall it from the oven and then provide power to it see if it is allowing gas to pass through it. If the wires connecting to the safety valve are burnt out, you will need to contact GE for information. Their telephone number is 1-800-626-2005. If they provide you with a part number for the wiring, you may call us back with it and we can verify if we have it available for you. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello Bonnie, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom you will want to consider either the
Top Burner Spark Electrode part PS952858, or the Burner Head itself part PS1020327 (medium burner), part PS3486550 (small burner), or part PS1480992 (large burner) for your model. We hope this helps.

Smell gas, off an on.Oven will ignite by it self.
ideas?
For model number rgb533weh8ww
Hello Dwight, thank you for inquiring. This is likely due to a faulty Flat Style Oven Igniter, part number PS231280 for your model. You may also want to consider this Single Gas Pressure Regulator and Safety Valve Assembly, part number PS2577552 as the cause. Good luck with your repair!
