The metallic clip, or also known as a broil element support, is for a oven element on a range. This part holds the broil element in place on top of the oven. If your support clip is broken then this replacement should be the solution. The tools needed for this project are slip joint pliers. For safety precautions, make sure to unplug your range from the power source, or shut off the house circuit breaker before starting this project. Refer to the installation instructions for best results and accuracy.
This part works with the following brands: GE, Hotpoint & Kenmore.
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I also removed a screw that held one end of a support bracket. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Reversing these steps, I finished the element's replacement.I had noticed that the former element was sagging at the front end. I installed the additional clips (not original) on each forward end of the element for additional support.

Snapped in the clip
Inside oven, remove two screws that hold element to back wall, pull element out three or so inches to get to wire clip connections, unclip wires, remove bad element, put new element in in reverse order of taking out bad element, just that simple. Also this site was so easy to use, plus the shipping time was unbelieveably short, even a company service man couldn't have been that quick, or as reasonable. Thanks a bunch!!
The two dollar socket set from Xmas 20 years ago had the right size socket..Long arms are advisable. The lower element still plugged in while the upper wires were just hanging there surrounded with fluffy white insulation fuzz, I wondered, " Could I bake a potato for my yearning and hungry family?"When I explained the situation to my retired father in Arizona he said simply, "I wouldn't."The new element popped in. It got really red, and, kinda like watching my toaster toast, the show was pretty much over after it heated up.Shalom and Merry Christmas Folks!
Dryer started making noises years ago. Finally it was intermittently starting, then...didn't start at all. It made a buzzing noise, like the motor was in over-torque. Then it over heated and wouldn't do anything until it cooled down. Then the cycle started all over again. I thought it best to change out all the worn parts. Found the belt, the rear seal, the rollers and motor all needed to be replaced. All were very simple to do. Followed the instructions and videos from others located on this site.
Removed the old element: removed clips holding the element, unscrewed the 2 screws that hold element in place. On the back of the range, removed casing to get to the connection wires, disconnected the element then removed the element. Reversed procedure to replace. Thanks for the speedy ordering and delivery.
All I had to do was pop the clamp on the top part of the heating element and push the clamp into the hole.
I ordered the replacement clips from this site and they arrived in a timely manner. The clips were perfect, but due to the age of the oven, the holes had elongated and the new clips kept falling out also. I modified the clips by widening the tips with a pair of pliers. They are holding just fine. I don't think the older clips could've withstood the modification.
I simply removed drop in range and removed screws holding burn box and installed new box. Total time was approxmately !hr.
Quick and easy, thanks!
Parts Select is the only parts place I found on the internet that had what I needed on my first purchase, so when I needed these clips I naturally went back to them. Product was easy to find, price was fine, receipt for payment quick and more importantly receipt of item was super quick. Thanks to the efficiency of this place and my old appliances, I will continue to go to them as needed.
The bake element basically just plugs in remove the two screws in the back with a nut driver pull the element out unplug the spade connectors and reconnect the new element . As far as the clips just snap them on to the top element and snap back in the holes at the top of the oven. Also very fast delivery less then 48 hours from ordering to delivery
I turned off the electricity to the oven.and removed the door. I removed the 2 screws with a nut driver holding the element in place, pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires with pliers , clamped the 2 wires together to keep them from falling in the back of liner. When the new element was received the procedure was reversed. Electricity was restored and the oven works perfectly.
