How do I test if your part #PS12710505, motor cam gear assembly is the reason my softener is not working correctly? My salt tank has too much water in it and the discharge water will not stop? I've bypassed the softener for now. appreciate any help

Hi David, thank you for your inquiry. Based on the description, you may have this issue because of the motor cam gear assembly, part number PS12710505. You can test to see if the motor is getting 120 vac to it and if it is but not turning then it will be faulty and need to be replaced to fix the issue. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
