Try adjusting the hot and cold water valves on the water supply to the washer. If the noise diminishes after adjusting the valves, the squealing or whistling is likely caused by the pressure of the water supply to your home. Check on reducing the overall water pressure in your home. If this does not correct the problem, the screens in the water valves on the washer may need to be cleaned or the water valves may need to be replaced. Also, check water valve screens for blockages. The noise may occur when the washer is filling. This is most likely caused by plumbing problems such as loose, rattling pipes.
