Why would there be a rotten potpourri smell coming from the fan motor for several days?

Hello Andrea, thank you for your inquiry. Make sure your charcoal filter is clean and does not need to be replaced. If it is fine, the most common reason your microwave fan has a smell because of the worn fan bearing. We would recommend inspecting the ventilation fan motor, part number PS3510740.
