It was very simple, exchange the damaging parts Crisper Pan and Ice Guide.
I used a sandpaper drum on my Dremel tool and ground about a millimeter off of the bottom tab tip. That allowed me to then push it through the slot and rotate it up and closed the top clips to complete the job.
I pulled the broken shute out because one locking tab had broken. The front tab slipped out very easy. I slid the new piece into position by placing the front tab into position and press the two locking tab into place and it snapped on. Took about 3 minutes to do everything.
watched the repair video on parts selct site which confirmed my thoughts about the repair procedures. Followed the simple instructions and used a little dab of vasaline so the plastic on plastic clip slipped into place easier. Simple repair. Parts were shipped fast and cost was good. New guide was in place and working less than 1 week after I ordered the part. Great and fast shipping. Would use this site again without hesitation.
I removed the original part using electrical pliers. This necessitated further damaging the guide but this did not matter as it would be replaced. It took 5 minutes to replace.Having the web page graphics made it easy to select the correct item and the part arrived in 3 days after order.
Very simple to replace. it just went right into place and works like a champ.
removed front cover, disconneted elect. wiring, removed 2 screws, soaped latches on ice guide, snapped into place, reversed removal steps.
Remove ice bin, remove screws that hold the cover, then remove circlip at the end of the shaft.Remember to stack grinder blades and spacers in the order they come off ,then remove plastic nut that holds the auger . Remove broken auger and install new one then reinstall grinder blades as you removed them . Insert shaft back into bin and replace cover. Place ice bin back in Frig. and your done. The ice guide just snaps in . Jr.
Last week I was checking for my faucet that I have changed 3 times and keeps breaking (very bad quALITY)nd very expensive and I found you. .. I decided to check out of couriosity and I have my Ice maker dispenser working and my stove burned knob replaced for about $12 . It's not a comercial or advertisement, I stil need the burner cap that cost $50. I Can't afford it. Maybe later .You are doing a great job. Carol
Replaced ice guide.
This was a very easy repair. The ice guide has 3 pegs that just clicked into the opening to position it. The ice and water filter was easy as well. I turned the water off because I was not sure if the water would leak when I removed it. One thing is to make sure you run the water for a while after installation to recharge the water line and to get all air out of the line, and to run the filter.
