My compressor on this freezer runs continuously. Replaced thermostat- no change. Will this part (start controller) possibly fix this issue? What about the run capacitor?

Thank you for your question. This part could fix the issue. You may want to test your run capacitor and your start relay first before changing anything out. You can test those parts with a multi meter. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Our refrigerator (all-fridge, no/separate freezer) cools just fine, but the temp gets pretty warm before turning the compressor on again. I.E. We always have it set to 33. Internal. Temp gets to 40/42 before it turns on again to cool it down. Is the temp controller likely to issue? We already replaced the thermistor and cleaned the coils. Any input appreciated. Thanks Darcy

Hello Darcy, Thank you for the question. This could be caused by a defective Defrost Thermostat and it can be tested. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. We hope this helps!
