YREX4634KQ1 Roper Dryer - Instructions

After researching and reading other reviews on Partselect.com, I watched the videos on doing the repairs. I purchased the parts from partselect. I happy to receive them before the expected delivery date. Before the part arrived, I followed the recommendation on the videos and vacuumed out all the accumulation of lint. When the parts arrived, I followed the instructions on the videos. I replaced the parts. I put the cover back on and plugged in my dryer. It works great! I estimate a savings of approximately $3-400.00. I also felt good that I was able to do it on my own. I am definitely impressed with Partselect! Thank you so much!

removed rear cover, removed element, checked continuity and found element burned in two. went on line and found exact replacement then ordered and installed. unit worked like new. service was great, paid extra for guaranteed deliver in three days and installed.

Did the troubleshooting recommended on the PartSelect website and determined the parts necessary. I ordered them via UPS and which acn take up to 3 days, but they arrived the next day. Parts were put in and worked great. I was very pleased that PartSelect under promised and over delivered.

I unplugged the dryer then loosened the screws on the top and inside front, took the front off, I didn't need to unplugged the socket wiring attached to the door. Removed the drum (it came right off) wrapped the new belt around the drum, fed the belt through the tension flange and looped it over the pulley. Then rotated the drum a few times by hand to line everything up then put everything back together. It works fine now.

Went on the website to diagnose the problem and ordered the two most likely components for the recommended "fix". Watched the video that was associated with the tracking information that was emailed to me when the parts shipped. Walks you right through the entire process. My daughters could do this. I call myself the "Maytag Repairman" these days and the wife was quite impressed!!! Of course I didn't clue her in to all the help I received from you guys...made her think I was a GENIUS!!! ;)

After finding the PartSelect website I entered the model number of the dryer and clicked on the link that was part of the trouble shooting feature that took me to a list of possible failed parts showing the percentile figures for how often each part was the culprit. The highest percentage replacement part was the heating element. I watched the video, removed the heating element and confirmed it was at fault. Broken coil wire. Ordered and replaced part. Was a little confused by reconnecting thermostat but watched video on that specific part replacement and successfully repaired dryer.

Since I was going to take the back off, I went ahead and replaced the thermal fuse, both thermostats, and the heater coil. I followed Steve's instructions and had all 4 parts installed in 30 minutes! It was so simple, I really have nothing helpful to add except to watch the VIDEOS. I would like to thank PartSelect for making this repair so easy for me. The Instant Repairman feature helped me find parts quickly! The videos, well, a big THANK YOU to Steve for the terrific repair demonstrations!!! Also, reading others reviews was very helpful. I am already telling others about this site, and I will be back (hopefully not too soon).

Disconnect power! Remove vent hose. Removed back panel. Disconnect plugs from high temp sensor (2nd hardest part) - remember which one goes where. Remove old heating unit held in with hex-head screws. Remove high temp sensor from heating unit (hardest part). Reinstall High-temp sensor into NEW heating element. Install new heating element assembly into dryer (snug fit). Reconnect electrical connections. Reconnect exhaust. Test to ensure functions properly - success! Uninstall exhaust & install back panel. Install exhaust vent. While it was open, I vacuumed it out, as well as the exhaust vent.

Before placing your order remove the motor. At the rear of the motor is a plastic nut which is how the fan is attached. Mine was stuck and needed to be removed with a cutoff wheel from the back side of the dryer. This delayed the project several more days as I had already received the motor before figuring out the fan was stuck.

Watched the repair video on part-select. Pulled the top of the dryer up after removing the lint trap screws.removed screws at top, inside both sides and then lifted front off. Slipped belt over drum and ran through tensioner and around motor shaft. Put dryer back together in reverse order. Simple.

Removed the old fuse and replaced with the new fuse. Of course, I had to remove the back of the dryer but very easy and the cost was less than $20.00. Definitely worth it because we did not have the money for a new dryer. PartSelect.com is awesome!

The only added thing to know is how to remove the lower kick plate. This is not on later models. Other wise all the directions are the same as for models with a full solid front panel. Immediately below the dryer door, at the right and left end, there is a plastic clip similar to the one holding the top panel to the vertical side panels. Insert a flat screw driver or putty knife releasing the plastic clip. This will allow the kick plate to fall forward on rings at the bottom of the plate. Release springs at either side of the dryer door (reattach later using pliers or a hook). Unscrew the nut screws at either side of the dryer door. Remove the door panel and the kick plate and put to one side. Reverse to reattach. I replaced the wheel tension part and the belt at the same time. I put the dryer on its back to install the wheel, belt and tension part. I used strips of scotch tape to hold the belt in place at the top and sides of the drum, while I looped the belt on the tension wheel and the driver wheel. I used the bungee cord to hold the top in place while I put the whole drier on it back. Good luck and have a vacuum handy to suck out years of dangerous lint....

When the part came in my husband was not home and I figured I could put this part on myself. I took the part downstairs, used the nut driver to remove one screw, took the two wires off the old therma fuse, put the wires on the new therma fuse, and screwed the new therma fuse onto the back of the dryer. It really couldn't have been any easier.
