Replace cracked water filter housing
Turn off water supply. Remove insulated cover (1/4" Nut driver) secured by 1 1/4" screw. Remove two 1/4" screws holding water filter housing in place on back o fridge. Noted the inlet and outlet water tubes and removed them from the housing using needle nose pliers (the elbows are removed by compressing the flange into the elbow while simultaneously pulling the tube in the other direction from the elbow). O-ring was placed in new filter cup. Plug filter into housing and screw filter cup onto the threads of housing. Insert tubing into new elbows, pressing them until they seat. Press other end of elbows onto nipples of filter housing, paying attention to the orientation noted above during dis-assembly. Attach filter housing to back of fridge with two 1/4" screws. Attach insulated cover over the housing with remaining 1/4" screw. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks. If no leaks, allow water to run through the system until all air is expelled.

No power to dispenser control panel on door
I was told that the problem was one of the two circuit boards behind the panel. After replacing each of the boards, the unit would still not work. Ended up replacing the ribbon cable connecting the two. Easy fix if you can find the faulty part... Just remove the water dispenser control board and replace cable. Observe orientation of cable. It only works 1 way.

Crisper support 'pin' for crisper broke off x 2
1) cleared remaining parts of broken crisper supports by pushing them into refrigerator insulation(pushed on 'pegs' so 'peg' holes in side of plastic inner liner of refrigerator were clear. 2) Was unable to fully place new crisper supports into postiion. 3) Then, out of despiration, used small light hammer to gently tap on largest 'pin.' I was surprised to see this 'pin' enter into plastic side of refrigerator and then to see crisper support was secure when 'pin'/peg' was flush with new crisper support. 4) then returned crisper to correct postion; supports held. 5) WARNING-DO NOT OVERLOAD CRISPERS!! I BELIEVE THIS CAUSED 'PIN'/'PEG' FAILURE INITIALLY! I don't know if cause was volume too high with crisper forced into place OR if the crisper mass/weight was the culprit. SUGGEST weight limit less than 7.5 lbs.; don't attempt to load in more volume than top of crisper.

Water Dispenser Actuator Sheared Off
Disconnect power. Removed dispenser port base by pulling out to reveal three phillips screw fasteners at bottom of port frame. Unscrewed fasteners and pryed out frame which has snap inserts at top. Rotated top of frame outward to expose actuator axle retaining clips which then were unscrewed to allow removal of actuator and release it from return spring. Replaced actuator, clips and reset spring. Reset frame, screws and base cover.

not freezing, refrigerator not cooling, back of freezer icing up
I first determined the problem. I found PartSelect.com through online search. I ordered the part online Sunday morning. Part arrived Tuesday afternoon(Christmas eve) and I installed it that night! Now I am a gal mind you, but I am pretty handy. I pulled out the fridge, unplugged it and removed the back panel, easy. Then I used a heat gun on low the defrost the 'defroster' which had REALLY iced up bad. It had iced up so much,in fact, it had disconnected the evaporator fan connection. I clipped the wires. Stripped the ends, slid on the shrink tubing supplied, connected the wires with the crimp connectors and heated the shrink tube. I also put another piece of shrink tube on the fan connector so it would be more secure. Put the panel back on, plugged it back in and started working like a champ!! I am so proud of myself and likely saved at least $250.00 on a service call! Total cost for this repair, $22.00!! :D

Ice Maker not getting any water
1). Shut off water supply to fridge. 2). Move fridge out to gain access to back of fridge. 3). Remove poly line to water tube have a glass handy to catch any remaining water that might be in line. Some may have a foam insulating washer around water tube remove it first. 4). My Sears-Kenmore was a twist lock water tube have to turn it to left or right depending on brand to remove tube. 5). After removing make sure tube didn't just have water frozen in tube ( that was my problem ) run it under hot water frozen piece will come out. 5). Problem fixed, reverse directions to re-install tube!

The ice maker quit making ice.
I noticed that the two gears weren't meshing together so upon inspection I saw that one of the gears had an inner piece missing making it weak so it kept popping out away from the other great. I ordered the new gear and unscrewed the old one off and put the new one on. So easy. It made Ice beautiful after that

The refrigerator's In-door water dispenser leaked water. The leakage started out slow and over a period of time increased.
This was the first time I ever installed a water inlet valve in a refrigerator. I viewed the Parts Select youtube repair video that is available online. In fact, I viewed it a couple times. Ultimately, the actual installation of the water inlet valve went exactly as shown in the youtube video. I did not experience any problems with the installation and was quite happy with the experience.
