You guys at Partselect are the best!!! Went to your site, typed in my appliance symptoms, and received possible fixes. Ordered the suggested parts (under $50) on a Sunday night and got em Tuesday am. Installed the easiest one first and Voila!!!! Frig is working great. Thanks Bob S

Remove 4 screws that hold up overhead controls, this is also the part that holds the light. Unplug the timer and replace. Super simple and runs great now. After you plug it in it may take a few minutes to kick on the compressor but it will. Also I was pleased it was a factory Frigidare part. Price was right.

Replaced ice maker - easy to replace but it did not fix the problem.

Cut Hoses From Reservoir And Connect With New Hose With Connection Fitting.

Remove 4 screws to get the housing cover off. Remove the lock ring that holds the ice auger in place. REmove 4 screws to get the crusher housing off. Reverse the order to replace the housing. Very simple.

Watched your excellent video online and made the repair just as your technician demonstrated....took about 1 minute!

The rod, that looks a like a oven heater element, had burnt into and was not defrosting the coolant coils in the freezer was freezing up. I took the back panel off from inside the freezer and let it unthraw. The freezer coils were held into a frame with only two screws which I took out. I unplugged the heater element and easily pulled the coils out as little as possible, taking care not to break the copper rods with the freon inside them. On each side of the coils I had to take off a silver aluminum strip that held the element close to the coils so I could get it away from the coils so I could pull the heater rod straight down. I then fished the new piece up through the coils,which is a little tricky because of not room to move,then put the strips back, pushed the coils back into place and attached the screws and hooked the heater element back. Screwed the back panel on and it worked fine. This was my first fridge repair.

Removed the lower trim panel from front of fridg. and loosened two screws enough to turn it about 1/4 inch so the screw heads were in the larger holes. Pulled it out disconnected the wire connector and transfered the heat shield and screws to the new clock, connected the wire connector and aligned the screws. tightened them and job done. Has worked like new sense. Thanks Roger

Diagnosis: used wiring diagram attached to frig and determined cause could be wiring, heater element, thermostat or timer. After completely defrosting the frig (turned it off) I removed the rear cover in the freezer and looked for an obvious problem. None seen. Removed temperature select pod from the frig box and looked for obvious problems. None seen but defrost timer appeared poorly made. Repair: Since I had no practical way of checking the defrost cycle in operation, I checked probable failures on the Part Select website and saw defrost timer as most probable. I ordered the timer. Installed it. Waited a few days to make sure the frig went through a few defrost cycles then removed the freezer rear cover. There was no excessive frost buildup so I'm reasonably sure the repair was successful.

The repair went exactly as illustrated by the video offered by part select. That video was helpful and showed me step by step how to accomplish the repair. The replacement part was exactly the same as the original, thank you part select.( Allow the old ice maker to return to room temperature before you remove the 1/4 nut securing the level mechanism, otherwise the frozen head of the not will break off).

Followed the video instructions posted below the product. Its a tight area to work in but it can be done. It did not immediately start making ice. I waited and waited.... 3 hrs 4 hrs still not filling up or making ice. Finally I decided to pour some water in the tray and see if it would freeze ice and dump it. It did and immediately started to fill up on its own after that! Its been working perfectly ever since! So dont be alarmed if yours doesnt work immediately and try pouring some water in it if yours doesnt being working within several hrs. I am happy I was able to do this myself and save repair man costs. Its just not work the cost they charge for older appliances.

This is the 2nd ice maker replace in the past 20 months. This installation was easier following the experience of the first replacement. The instructions are well written. The pictures or illustrations are difficult. The most challenging part of the installation is routing and fastening the wire harness. The illustration was not helpful. Overall, this is a repair most DIYers should be able to accomplish.

inspected visible refrigeration lines for evidence of leaking, found nothing substantial that would cause concern, ordered capacitor and defrost thermostat simply because both are inexpensive parts and theoretically either could be causing the problem. Both parts were very simple to install especially since I am a semi-retired refrigeration man.
