REC3622BL0 Roper Dryer - Instructions

removed 4 screws. 2 in the back and 2 at the lint screen door. Remove top lid of dryer and looked down and there was the door switch with the broken actuator spring. A diagram of the dryer with part locations is very helpful. I checked the switch with volt meter to make sure it was ok. It was ok! Replace the actuator and put every thing back together and dryer works just fine. Thanks to PartSelect I was able to buy the actuator spring buy itself and not have to buy the switch also.

Took 12 screws off the back. One screw for the fuse. $9.32 and 30 minutes and we're back in business!

I went to internet & got the part & instructions.the shipping cost more than the part. Saved 20.00 & gas.

I replaced the entire motor in the dryer and the belt while I had it open and it is working great! I just watched the short video on the site to learn the tricks and did it myself.

First removed and checked the ignighter. It was fine. Next I located the schematic drawing and discovered that the burner, ignighter, and flame detector were all operated by one simple 110 volt circuit. This circuit did not power up when the dryer was cycled on. I pulled the dryer from the wall, removed the back panel, the vent etc. I then located the operating thermostat and the thermal fuze. The thermal fuze was open. (GOOD NEWS AN EASY FIX!!!) Thanks Guys

Well the video showed us taking off the back. Which wouldn't come off. Welded. Then we could not find the fuse in back of the unit or bottom. The second time we tried we found it in the front. We had to take off the front, bottom cover then we found the fuse. But, it didn't fix the problem. The unit is still on Casual load only. When we push the buttons the other lights light up but goes back to Casual. The unit is clear of lint and still drys but only at the Casual setting.

Pushed the new catch in by hand. Working great.

Watched several videos online and was suggested that the thermal fuse was bad, so i replaced it but no fix. So i checked the previews Q&A from other costumers and watched the videos on how to replace different parts. I first looked thru the peep hole on the bottom left part of the dryer and saw the igniter glow for about 10 sec every minute but no flame would start. So i replaced the igniter, the flame sensor, and the coils all at once. I know thats not the proper way to troubleshoot something but i was gonna take the drum out and everything so mind as well replace them all. Dryer works like new and dont have to listen to the wife complaint anymore!!!

Took the back cover off. Replaced fuse and put the cover back on. Worked great.

I ordered the Thermal Fuse, as it appeared to be the problem. A friend suggested that as long as the price was fairly reasonable, I should go ahead and get two of them and keep one for later. I ordered/paid for two of them. I put the Thermal Fuse in, and when I attempted to turn the dryer on, it ran for about 5 minutes, at a very hot heat, dried the towels, and then would not come on again. I thought it had kicked the circuit breaker, but after checking, found it hadn't. I watched the youtubes.com again and found that there were three other parts that it could possibly be. I ordered them, and replaced all of them. One of them had 4 prongs but two on the new one. I left two wires off, and sure enough, it would not run. I borrowed an ohm meter, and found out my old part was still good, but that in the process it had blown the Thermal Fuse, of which I just happened to have an extra, and after installing it, it is now in perfect running order. The total repair was about $80-100, rather than a $75.00 bill for service and heaven only knows for the parts at the repairman's price! Thanks youtube, Parts Select and my friend for his advice! I followed the instructions on the Part Select website for drum support rollers and shaft. The videos were great! (There wasn't one for the right side shaft but I could extrapolate from the other instructions.) The hardest part for me was releasing the dryer top - the video made it look so easy but it took me a long time to get the little clips to release with the putty knife. Also, tightening the new right side shaft required the help of another person as my arms are not long enough to hold the shaft with pliers while I tightened the nut in the back of the dryer (and I did have to remove the back cover for this shaft). I would recommend to anyone even a little bit handy to attempt a repair following part select's videos.

I repaired this dryer after I did a little research online to learn about the thermal fuse. I took the back off the dryer and used the Fluke meter to test the thermal fuse for continuity. There wasn't any. I left the dryer disassembled and ordered the part. It arrived two days later. I installed it and reassembled the dryer in just a few minutes. It was a pretty simple repair.

I actually found the repair to be quite easy. This dryer along with the washer are basic models and over 15 years old. I have replaced just about every part on these machines. The more "basic" the model; without all the bells and whistles and electronics, the easier they are to repair yourself. I used a YouTube video for this particular model for the repair. All the items you sent arrived in superb condition and delivered in just a couple of days! Absolutely fantastic and professional service bar-none! 1. Shut off power to dryer 2. Remove back panel covers with 1/4" nut driver 3. Use ohm meter to determine continuity at various thermal couples (3) and the one thermal fuse on the blower panel. . (This was the "bad "one in my case) 4. Remove two wires and remove the one screw that holds fuse. Did not have the model# for dryer, so I took the part# from the blown fuse and found it at partselect. Com. . They even showed an exact picture of the part I needed. . Ordered on tuesday/arrived by fed x on saturday. . . Reverse procedure to install. .
