REC3422AW1 Roper Dryer - Instructions

Removed back panel of the dryer and located the thermal fuse. Disconnected two wires, and removed one screw holding the fuse in place. Installed new fuse and reassembled. Dryer works like a champ again.

Disconnect the power cord. Unhook the dryer vent hose. Remove the back. Find the Thermal Fuse. Use a ratchet and socket to remove socket head screw that holds the Thermal Fuse in place. Disconnect one of the two wires from the old Thermal Fuse and attach the wire to the new Thermal Fuse ensuring the wire is placed on the same end of the new Thermal Fuse as the old Thermal Fuse. Repeat procedure for the remaining wire and screw Thermal Fuse back in place. Replace the back, reattach the dryer vent hose and connect the power cord.

Watched several videos online and was suggested that the thermal fuse was bad, so i replaced it but no fix. So i checked the previews Q&A from other costumers and watched the videos on how to replace different parts. I first looked thru the peep hole on the bottom left part of the dryer and saw the igniter glow for about 10 sec every minute but no flame would start. So i replaced the igniter, the flame sensor, and the coils all at once. I know thats not the proper way to troubleshoot something but i was gonna take the drum out and everything so mind as well replace them all. Dryer works like new and dont have to listen to the wife complaint anymore!!!

Took the back cover off. Replaced fuse and put the cover back on. Worked great.

I ordered the Thermal Fuse, as it appeared to be the problem. A friend suggested that as long as the price was fairly reasonable, I should go ahead and get two of them and keep one for later. I ordered/paid for two of them. I put the Thermal Fuse in, and when I attempted to turn the dryer on, it ran for about 5 minutes, at a very hot heat, dried the towels, and then would not come on again. I thought it had kicked the circuit breaker, but after checking, found it hadn't. I watched the youtubes.com again and found that there were three other parts that it could possibly be. I ordered them, and replaced all of them. One of them had 4 prongs but two on the new one. I left two wires off, and sure enough, it would not run. I borrowed an ohm meter, and found out my old part was still good, but that in the process it had blown the Thermal Fuse, of which I just happened to have an extra, and after installing it, it is now in perfect running order. The total repair was about $80-100, rather than a $75.00 bill for service and heaven only knows for the parts at the repairman's price! Thanks youtube, Parts Select and my friend for his advice! I watched the video on this site and it went exactly as described, fixed it and it sounds like a new dryer. Was going to junk it, glad I didn't!

Pulled the old one out, took the duck tape off (haha) and snapped, pushed the new one on. Piece of cake. I then noticed that this is a movable door ,and ther was the same part on the other side, oh well now I still have a spair.

First I purchased the heating element, still no heat. Then I purchased the thermal fuse,still no heat. I have been pleased with the prompt shipment of the parts and the parts arrived safe. Thank you for service and time, not sure what to do now.I will recommend PartSelect to friends.

I watched your video on how to replace the fuse.Wow it was a lot easier than I thought.I would highly reccomend anyone to watch the video before even trying to do any repairs.The dryer is working like a new one.By doing it myself saved me a lot of money.Thank you

Removed the broken actuator and replaced with the new one. The time to replace the dryer door switch actuator took about 5 minutes.By the way, I purchased the dryer in 1965 and it works as if it was brand new. Thank you Kenmore for a lifetime dryer.

two screws on filter housing and then lift dryer to up like the hood of a car the two screws on actuator, be careful not to drop actuator, if you do use a magnet to retrieve, two screws back in then wire clip top of dryer down and two screws back into filter housing and your ready to dry clothes, not recommended but if you have to dry clothes while waiting for part a clamp on the switch will allow you to use dryer, but be extremely careful because dryer will not turn off when door is opened

just replaced the rollers with the new ones. The trouble was getting the belt around the drum again, but it all worked out and the dryer is running good
