PEB2060SM2SS General Electric Microwave - Instructions

I just dropped the part and we were good to go! When mamas happy I'm happy!!!!!!

After reading reviews that there was no power what so ever and a fuse replacement will solve the problem, I tried it. Replacing the fuse is very easy (and I am not handy at all). All you have to do is remove the microwave cover from the top by removing two screws, slide the cover to the left and pulling the cover off. Then remove the grill in front of you, by removing one or two screws. The fuse is in front of you, use pliers and be firm but gentle. Replacing the fuse is easy but it did not solve my problem.

Open the microwave and remove the glass turntable and rotating ring assembly. Close the door and flip the unit upside down. Remove screws that are used to attached the bottom cover of the microwave (you will not be able to remove one of them because it is a brad or some other type of screw...no worries...not necessary to remove). Remove one screw that holds the synchronous motor in place and unplug it. Plug in the new one, align it with the notch and screw hole and re-insert the screw that holds the synchronous motor in place. Re-attach the screws that hold the bottom in place and turn the unit right side up. Inserted new rotating ring assembly onto stem of new synchronous motor. Put the glass turntable back in place. Plug in the unit and wait about 15 seconds for it to get to the point where the message on the display instructs you to set the time. After you do that, you are ready to test the unit.

After contacting GE support I realized the only interest they had in helping me was to recommend sending a $$$ technican to diagnose the problem. I decided to go to the Sears Parts select website.to see if others were experiencing the noise me microwave was making. After reading through others posting on the subject I decided to purchase the Synchronous Motor. While waiting for the part to come I decided to lubricate the hub of the spides that rotates the plate with white Lithium grease. After a couple of times utilizing the microwave noise went away so whn the part arrived at me home I put it in a drawer just incase I need it a some future date. PartSelect had helpful repair instructions on-line which made the repair easier and faster. Unfortunately, there were other problems with the oven that immediately blew the new fuse I had just installed. It was then determined that additional repair would most likely cost almost as much as a new microwave.

First unplugged the microwave, took top grill off, took control panel off, took wires off and used color coded tape to make sure they went back in right places, took fuse out and replaced it and put every thing back and it all worked fine and to top it off my wife did it all. So it was pretty easy.

I first read where someone had the same problem. Their solution was a burned-out fuse. I ordered a new fuse...installed it and that did not solve my problem. I revisted PartSelect and read how Marla (from Arlington, TX)solved her problem. I purchased a secondary switch and when it arrived, I made a copy of Marla's instructions and followed them to the letter. I installed the new secondary switch into the secondary space, put everything back together and the oven STILL DID NOT WORK. I had to take the latching panel apart again and test each switch to see if there was another bad one. I found that the third switch was burned out. So I took the new switch out of the second slot and installed it into the third slot. I tested the switches before reinstalling the latching panel. This time everything worked. So I put everything back together, reinstalled the microwave on the wall, tested it again, and everything worked perfectly.

Removed glass try, easly pulled ring up and off shaft and installed in reverse order aligning keyway on new part with keyway shaft, then placed glass tray back into unit. As simple as turning a door knob.

Replace the fuses

Just like the directions said. Very simple.

I have the built-in microwave in the cabinet. The hard part was getting it out of the cabinet. Once out, removing the cover and replacing the bulb and fuse was very easy. You need the tamper proof star bits to take out the screws holding the cover to the microwave. I got the bit set from Amazon for about $8. My fuse was OK. But I replaced it anyway, since it was 4-year-old. I am no expert in appliance repair, but found it fairly easy to do the repair. After unplugging the microwave, wait for 20 to 30 minutes before opening it, so that the capacitor inside completely discharges. It is supposed to discharge in 30 seconds, but why take a chance of electrocution..?

Remove tray and rotating ring assembly. Turn the microwave onto the back. Locate the center plate and cut it loose with the side cutters. (Note: there are retaining slots on the opposite side) these slots hold the cover plate in place when reattaching. Use a magnetic phillips head screw driver so you don't drop the cover retaining screw. After cutting loose the cover, unplug the wires from the motor. (Note placement for correct reattachment). Remove 2 screws and remove old motor. Replace motor. Replace the screws and reattach the wires. Replace the cover (rotate so the prongs fit into the slots) tighten screw; you're done!!! I ordered the rotating ring, but I don't need it. Now I have an extra.

It was extremely easy. I put the microwave on my table upside down and could see the motor thru the holes in the bottom cover. It appeared as though the outside skin had to be removed to access the motor but after looking at it there is an access panel I did have to cut it loose. Not bolted on. There was a message stamped into the bottom case next to the panel that said to debur after panel is removed. So I cut it loose on 3 sides was able get to the one screw swap the motor and reinstall it in about 5 minutes. It works like new What an easy and quick repair. Thanks

Took off cover , unpluged switches , took off switch assy, off/on test hooped and howlered for about 5 mins .Then laughed about other sites said could get those switches. Just wanted to say I LOVE Partselect. Super fast del , great price. JUST AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first door panal contained a piece of glass that seoarated from the panal within 2 months and fell on the floor and shattered. The second door panal was similarly defectice, the glass separated from the panal within 2 weeks. We then ordered an entire new door which works
