The star broke when trying to loosen the bolt at the top
I had to hammer out the broken star wrench tip then progressively drill the head off of the bolt. Once accomplished I could remove the door. I used a standard replacement screw I case I ever have to replace the door again. The manufacturer should use a fastener other than a star head bolt.
My husband open the microwave and see the capacitor melted. He try to find the piece in store, but unfortunatly he didn't find any. I found the piece on the web and ordered it. My husband replaced the part easily. The microwave work very well. The microwave was to our friend. He did replace it by a new one. Now we have a new microwave with a fan.
Reminder signal and message to change filter on microwave digital display.
Removed 2 screws on the top of the microwave and removed top/front piece of microwave. Slid out old filter (which didn't look dirty at all) and replaced it with the new one. Replaced top/front piece and 2 screws. It took less than 5 minutes.
removed perimeter screws from the bottom side and the lower cover is hinged at the wall side. Motor is visible and easily removed with two screws. Take of the old one, install the new one, and reverse the procedure to put the bottom cover back in place. Will nee helper to hold one side of the bottom until couple of screws can be put in on the other side.
I had no problem installing the new filter. Just used a phillips screw driver to remove the two screws holding the vent cover in place. Cleaned the dust out of the ducts and reinstalled the new filter. The screws must be held to the screw driver with your finger tips so you don't drop them in the vent cover. The most difficulty I had was in clearing the clean code from the screen. There are no instructions in the owners manual for doing this. But after several tries I got it.
