Had to take all the screws out of the bottom of the microwave to get to the socket. Once that was done, it was a simple fix of taking out 2 screws that hold the socket in, and then unplugging it. Replug and put all screws back. It was a fairly simple fix for the DIY homeowner.

Removed all the screws from the underside panel - approximately 9 or 10 of them. The panel easily dropped down to allow easy access to the light bulb socket assembly. The wires to the socket easily unplugged and old socket easily removed. New socket slipped right in and wires easily plugged in. Actually took longer to put the screws back in than anything else. I am thrilled with this repair. Note: so easy even a 61 year old single woman in her PJ's can do it.

I had to hammer out the broken star wrench tip then progressively drill the head off of the bolt. Once accomplished I could remove the door. I used a standard replacement screw I case I ever have to replace the door again. The manufacturer should use a fastener other than a star head bolt.
