Burner out
I didn't repair anything because you sent me the wrong part! I submitted a claim to return it and it's been a week, and I have heard nothing from you. Horrible customer service, I'll be calling today.
The top trim piece broke during a move and cleaning effort.
Identified the parts through the diagram from the web page, verified th parts needed to accomplish this repair. Ordered the parts needed, then researched the Maytag parts web site, along with another parts web site to verify the price and that the correct parts were being purchased. completed the parts order from a cheaper source and received the parts in two days. Broken piece was removed and the new part insalled within 25 minutes, the oven is operating normally and looks like a new unit.
First I turned off the power. Next I disconnected the downdraft vent. Then I removed the cooktop knobs and turned it upside down on the counter. I then removed about 12 screws to remove the element housing. I then unsnapped the old element, disconnected the 3 wires, replaced it with the new element, replaced the housing and screws. I replaced the cooktop, reconnected the downdraft hose and turned on the power.
While on vacation we had the floor covering replaced in our kitchen and while our kitchen appliances were moved our oven door was damaged and broken.
I ordered the replacement part and with a screwdriver I repaired it in under 1/2 hr. and saved between $100-200 from having a Maytag repairman come and do it. I didn't even have to leave the comfort of my house. Ordered it online and received it ups in 3-4 days. I was very satisified.
We removed 4 screws that let us raise the top of the stove. It was then very easy for my husband to remove the old burner and replace the new one. By ordering this part from you and installing it ourselves, we saved $248 from the quote we received from our "Maytag Repairman". Can't beat a deal like this and it was so easy.
Installed the handle on the new trim with the 2 screws, then mounted the trim on the door of the oven. putting the glass into the groove of the trim. Secured the trim with 4 screw across the top of the door. (I got my part in only 2 days with standard shipping Thanks PartsSelect)
Terminal block arc'ed because a wire had become loose.
Ordered and received the terminal block. Installed it along with a new 220V power cord and the appropriate insulator . Ensured the terminals were tight with a nut driver. Reinstalled cover. Then, using the control panel, I did a function check on all the heating elements, clock, oven light, to satisfy all operational requirements. All checked good! And, I was relieved that the control panel had not been shorted out as the terminal block was due to a loose connection. Easy fix.
Moved Oven from wall, removed eight screws holding down the Burner Top. Lifted Top and held it up to remove two screws on the side of the element. Disconnected four wires, replaced element, connected the four wires again and assembled in reverse mode of dissasembly. All went pretty simple, moving oven from wall and adjusting/level it back in place was the most time consuming. Part works fine, delivery was faster than expected during the Holidays. Good Job Thanks!!! HAPPY NEWYEAR!!!!
Unplug appliance first. Remove rear cover plate (only to disconnect burner plug). Remove plastic upper side covers. Open oven door & remove two screws holding burner top. Lift off entire top, flip upside down and change element.
We looked online for instructions, not sure how to "lift" the glass top.... There were 2 screws/hex head at the front of the range under the top that when removed allowed the top to be lifted up ..... the elements are on the underside, and with the removal of a few screws and unplugging the element connections (real easy) the burned out element was easily removed and the new one replaced... Less than 15 minutes for the whole operation...HOW COOL!
Unplugged the range, took off back shield (4 screws) unplugged the old part and plugged the new part in, put the shield back on and plugged the range back in. When you remove the light unit behind the lens after unplugging the two contacts slide it sideways toward you, it is slotted, don't try to pull it straight out or you will break the lens.
