latch switch seemed to be stuck & when setting wash options when door was open, water would start to fill the washer
I removed the screws on the interior door cover plate, pulled the cover plate back which exposes the latch switch. I then pulled the two electric connectors off the switch, swapped out new switch, reconnected electric and put the screws back in. Simple repair which took not more than 15 minutes and solved the problem.

The bottom of the basket split and the silverware would fall through.
It's not much of a story. Just discarded the split basket and replaced it with the new one. I was really impressed with the short amount of time before it arrived

The handle that operates the latch to open the door was broken
The latch that opens the door to the diswasher was broken. It became difficult to open the dishwasher door.

A quick search on the internet using the machine make and model took me to Partselect.com. Another quick seach of the exploded views of my dishwasher gave me the part number and a few more clicks had it on order.

I recieved the part buy the end of the week. and had it installed within 15 to 20 minutes and I was up and running.

What a deal!!! Thanks

This brand of Maytag certainly doesn’t live up to it’s brand name
So the door failed one fine evening and blew water and the door open. Come to find out the latching mechanism had failed due to stress cracks. The last sterilization cycle seems to do the failed part in totally to the point if failed on the next wash cycle.

So 12 screws later and a new door latch assembly I have a working Maytag once again.

Steps are:

1.Unplug dishwasher of AC supply

2.Lower front door 45 degrees down.

3.Remove 5 screws on the top of door assembly

4.Remove next lower 4 screws mid door assembly. Leaving the lowest screws in place.

5.Separate front door assembly from inter shell of door.

6.Grab door latch assembly and disconnect one switch at a time. Replace one switch connector at a time to the new latch assembly.

7.You must keep in mind that the switches have a locking connector so use a very fine screw driver to disengage the lock in the center of the plug.

8.Once you have swaped out of old latch reassemble in reverse order.

And your done! ?

Pastic door latch broke
I open the door and removed 11 scews. I than removed the inside of the door to access the latch. I pulled the two wire clips and remove the latch. Place the new latch in the slots and pushed the wire clips back on. I than replaced the back panel and drove the screws back in.

The funny thing is at first I called a local appiance dealer here in town to get the part. After two weeks of waiting and no return call. I notified them to forget the order. I went on line and found this web site. Within three days I had my part at a better price than I was qouted by the appliance store.

The latch on the door broke so the door wouldn't secure shut.
Removed the eight screws holding the front panel on the door, then separated the panel from the door assembly. Removed the old broken latch and replaced with the new one, then put the panel back on door assembly.

Latch handle was broken...couldn't open door
Pried door open. First ordered the wrong part...latch assembly with no handle. Reordered proper part and installed it in no time. Ordered regular shipping (cheapest) and in both instances parts were there in two days via Fed Ex. Very quick getting the parts to me.
Removed half of the screws on inside of door and used pliers to unhook assembly from the two power connectors and then popped new one in place by hand. All repairs should be this easy. I will use this company again for all appliance parts needed.

Door latch physically broke
Removed inner door cover. Latch Assy is held in place by 2 of the screws that hold the inner cover so at this point, the latch assy just slides out. The only minor problem I had was the microswitches on either side of the old latch would not let go of the connectors so using advice from a previous parts select customer, I removed the entire microswitches from the old latch (2 plastic prongs hold it on) and removed the new microswitches from the new latch and re-used the old microswitch assemblies. Works beautifully for $20 and 1/2 hour of labor versus the $240 I was quoted by a repairman!
