Broken handle on dishwasher
First turn off power to dishwasher. I then got dishwasher open and removed screws on inside. I then found the broken handle and I then disconnected the wired connections from the handle and slid it out. searched for it on partselect.com . They had it in stock, I ordered it on a Saturday and received it on the following Tuesday. I installed it and it worked great. I will use this site again for any parts needed in the future.

Handle broke when opening the Dishwasher.
I took the screws out of the door which released the part, umplugged the wires and, I then diagnosed which part I had to order, ordered the part and when it arrived I reversed the process. It was simple. I probably could have done the whole repair in 15 min if I had the part on hand.

Latching mechanism on door was broken. Door would not seal shut.
First I had to remove the screws holding the inner door liner to the outside door. Since two of the door screws also held the latching mechanism in place it came right out when I pried the door halves apart. Other repair tips had stated how the hardest part of this repair was getting the wire leads out of the switches on either side of the latch. So instead of trying to do this I just took the switches off the new latch and reconnected the old ones. Putting everything back and rescrewing door together was a snap. Easiest home repair job I ever did. I will think twice before calling a service man again.

Bottom of basket had broken
All I had to do was remove the handle from the current silverware basket (pried loose a couple of "teeth" with a pair of screw drivers) and push the handle on the new basket. Took longer to find the screwdrivers than it did to move the handle.

Thank you!

this was a broken handle fix
Had to pull the inner skin off the dishwasher after taking out the 11 screws and the handle litterally falls out when you pull the shell up --unhook the two(2) sensor plugs put the new handle in its place-hook the sensors back on and screw the shell back on in no more then 15-20 minutes.

Door Latch broke
(Remember to turn off power to appliance before replacement of the door latch) Removed the 11 #20 Secrews from the inner door panel, then carefully removed the wire harnes from each side of the door latch assembly. It was very dificult to get the wire harness from the latch so use caution, and remember wich harnes goes to eacy side for install. Then put wire harness back on and put inner panel in place and install the 11 #20 screws back in place. Turn on power and job is complete.

Door Latch Broke
First, DISCONNECT POWER! After opening the door I took all the screws out except the screws on each side next to the hinge. this will help the inside panel from sliding off when you raise the door up to get the assembly out. Once i got all the screws out the handle assembly was ready to pull the wire harness off. you can pull the assembly just outside the edge of the inside panel before any wires get pulled or insulation comes loose. i had to tug more then i thought i needed to but after working it back and forth it came off. after each side wiring was off, i took the broke one out and reattached the wires to the new one, reset the handle in the door in the molded spot, put screws back in and all done! no more doing dishes the old way! Good luck, took longer to open the package then replace the door latch.

broken handle/latch that locks door
anterior door, star allen set to undo, hot/neutral wires. will disconnect with some difficulty, ok to break. new latch is a large complete unit with new hot/neural wire attachments.
The snaps that are apart of exterior of maytag are likely broken if the latch is but the anter start screws keep it more than stable.
reassemble anterior with screws.
its a good idea to order and replace the rubber corner door seals at the same time if the unit is some yrs old. very easy. they will snap off/on.

this unit is a deluxe maytag 2006 model. white

The door latch broke for the second time
I removed about 10 screws that held the inside plastic liner to the frame of the washer door. Inside I found the latch that was clearly broken away from the assembly. The assembly has 2 electrical switches that are always energized, which I discovered when I got zapped. I carefully unclipped the energized switches from the broken assembly and clipped them to the new door latch assembly and replaced all of the screws. Done.
