The motor was making an loud sound and the dishes were not clean.
I watched a video that should how to take the motor and housing assembly out. I ordered a part from a competitor, but it was the wrong part ( This was after putting in my Kitchenaid model number). The thermodor opening was too big. Unfortunately, no one was able to help me find the right part. i search online again and found partselect.com. I was able to find the exact part right away. I was thankful that they had a better picture to make sure I got the right part. My part arrived within a few days. My husband was out of town for the week, and I was tired of washing dishes. My husband had taken pictures of the motor and wiring. I asked him to send me the pictures. I was happy to have the pictures to make sure the wiring was correct. I had great success installing the motor and housing assembly by myself. No dishes in the sink tonight and no leaks! I should have been a plumber instead of a teacher. I installed the dishwasher 8 years ago. I also installed the garbage disposal. I have watched too many repairmen fix my appliances for hundreds of dollars. I have always thought "I can do that! " ... so now I do.

Dishwasher door had no counter-balance
I spent a heck of a lot more time contemplating how this was going to go than it actually took to do the job! Great insights from other people (and Steve's videos are awesome!). Absolutely agree with the person who said the replacement links are of better quality than the originals. I expect I'll never have to do this again. Bought the link kit and the springs since I didn't know for sure what the failure was until I got into it. The original springs were fine so am returning the two that I bought. Trickiest part was re-hooking one of the door springs - I couldn't pull the dishwasher all the way out due to length of the electric wiring, so had to work at a weird angle to do one side. They're so strong that I kept pulling myself across the floor instead of stretching the spring! Finally ended up starting with the inside end hooked and then stretched to make the connection to the link. That said, including removing the kick plate and counter anchors and then replacing them, I was done in less than 30 minutes.

The wheels were broken off the rack
It was a simple snap it apart, put it back together using the new parts. Very simple. A small screw driver was used to help pry the snap together parts apart. No tools needed for reassembly.

Tore the cabinet seal while installing the dishwasher.
I had to pull the dishwasher out from the cabinets about 12" in order to pull the old seal off. Installing the new seal was quite easy, since there is no adhesive necessary. Start at the top center of the replacement seal and snap the groove of the seal which is hard plastic, into the mating parts of the tub and the tub trim. Its a little hard to explain, but pay attention to how the original seal (W10179427) was installed.

Rinse Aid Cap had fallen into machine and one of the three prongs had been damaged.
Lifted out the old damaged cap; replaced it with the new one. No tools needed. It took one minute. The company had the part sent out to us immediately; it arrived within a few days. The whole process of ordering, receiving, and repairing was super convenient.

Dishwasher Became Very Loud
The dishwasher was so load I was sure the pump had a bad bearing. . . After reading the on line comments I examined the chopper and it looked ok. As it turned out the damage was on the shaft and caused the shaft to lock onto the screen without the ability for the spring to work it must have caused excess pressure making the loud noise. I replaced the chopper and now the dishwasher is very quiet again. To replace I took out the baskets and four screw on the big screen and one more screw on the chopper cover then I had to pull on the chopper with moderate force and install the new one . Then I put back the covers and basket. . . Very easy

rack adjuster - wheels had broken off
pieces snap together - having the new piece made it easier to figure out how to dis-assemble the broken part from what had to remain with the new one. Not obvious in all cases how it comes apart but figured it out in a few minutes - have to be careful not to break anything else.

one wheel had broken on the rack adjuster
you need to remove 3 clips which is very easy and straight forward. The more difficult part is removing the adjustment slide, the main part. A few words of instruction with the part would have been very helpful. I kept moving the part around until it snapped out. Realignment to put the new part back in was trial and error. It finally slipped in and reinserting the three clips was easy.

Wheels brittle and bkoke
I bought only ajusters #4 and used the old #5,#6,#3,#9.If you think they may break you might whant to order these also.Study which side of rack the part is on that you are about to remove.Dissconnect part #5 from rack and slide down to remove from #4.Slide #6 down to remove from #4. Part #3 has two pins on back side ,squeeze and push to remove from #4. #9 has two pins on either side at bottom, use screw driver to push out sides of part #2 to remove pins from holes.Top will slide down out of slots at the top of #2. Assembly- Start with #5and #6 to help hold adjusters in place, then #3 and #9. I hope this will help you.

Wheels on adjuster worn. Top rank detached from railings.
1. Remove top rank. Do this by opening the clips at the end of each railing. This allows the rack to slide out. 2. With a screwdriver take apart the rack adjuster. Be careful not to break the adjuster clips. 3. Reassemble new rack adjuster with clips. 4. Hint: Take apart and reassemble each side separately. This way you will always have one assembled side as a reference when putting everything back together.

Was noisy in wash cycle, then stop washing.
The part was easy to install. But , you might have to unhook electrical, water, and drain. That is the time problem, part install is easy. All I had was a socket set, 1/4, drive fits. But a nutdriver would have been easier. WATCH the install video, great info!!!!!
