Door flopped down due to broken chord on balance link
I'm a 74 yr old women and have always tried to do my own repairs. With the web it was so easy to locate the problem and order the part. The online repair demo video was so easy to follow. Really proud of myself. "I still got it".

Leaky valve
Had to find the leak first, which was a big process. Once found, it was a matter of removing the part, looking it up om partselect.com , ordering it and reinstalling which wasn't too difficult. The installation took about 45 minutes. I was psyched to find a website that could simplify this repair without calling a mechanic or plumber!

Dishwasher wouldn't start because door wouldn't latch correctly. Detergent door would not close.
This was for two separate problems. 1) Bad Latch - The dishwasher door wouldn't close properly due to a defective latch, sensing that the door was open. Pulled down the door. Removed 12 torx screws. This separates the inner and outer panels of the door allowing easy access to the latch part at the top-center of the door. Remove the old latch, disconnect two wires. Reconnect the wires to the new latch and snap bak in place. 2) Detergent door not closing - Hard water caused heavy mineral build up getting in the way of the closing mechanism on the detergent dispenser. The open-all-the-time detergent door caused all the detergent to rinse away during the pre-wash cycle. With the door slightly up and the inner panel separated from the previous repair, loosen and slide out the control buttons at the top of the door with your hands. This will allow you to pull up and remove the outer door panel to give you access to the six screws holding the detergent dispenser in place. Remove the screws and one wire from the dispenser. Remove the metal bracket and plastic flap to replace the dispenser. Reverse the instruction to put everything back in place.

door balance link was broken
Pulled out the dishwasher - the most difficult part because the cabinets were build very tight around it. Assembly of spring and link is pretty self evident. However, the original part is slightly different in that it only requires one screw. Also, the rope link in the original is a little longer than the replacement part, so the new link setup stretches the spring more. This could lead it to break sooner. Overall, replacing the door balance was about as easy as replacing a toilet flapper. My wife was very happy with the result.

door balance kit broken
I was standing in the kitchen and heard a pop. Unsure what it was, I found an online video explaining that either the spring or the door balance mechanism was the issue. The video explained how to repair the door balance mechnanism so I removed the cover at the bottom of the dishwasher and found the rope for the door balance had broken. I then knew exactly what part to order. I ordered the balance kit from PartSelect and it was delivered two days later. I began the install and found that I could not pull the dishwasher out far enough to reattach the spring that came loose when the rope broke. I could tell something was holding it, but not sure what. Figuring this out probably took the most time. I thought it was stuck against the counter top so I turned the legs down and still couldn't get it out. I then looked at the plumbing and wiring next, but couldn't tell where the wiring entered the machine since it came from the back and you have about 4" of space to look through while laying on your back on the floor. I finally found the electrical box, took off the cover and could see the wires weren't long enough. I had to shut the circuit breaker off, disconnct the wires and pull them out of the box so I could get access to the sides of the dishwasher. Once that was done the parts fit perfectly and I finished up by reinstalling the wiring, sliding it back to its original position so the counter top screws would line up and readjusting the legs so it was at the right height and balanced side to side. The whole job took about an hour and half. If I had to do it again, I would say 30 minutes at the most. Very easy.

Dishwasher door would slam down.
The door had no resistance when opened and fall down. Then, after awhile, the door began to slam down when open. So I'm guessing that one of the door balances gave out. Then the other. So I unscrewed the screws on each side of the dishwasher and noticed the broken string on each side. Replacement was simple. Connect the springs to the rear of the dishwasher. Attach the strings to the springs, replace the pulleys with the new ones supplied with the kit and attach the other end of the strings to the dishwasher door. Watch the video for more help.

The plastic parts on my door balance kits broke making the door extremely dangerous
The repair was extremely easy as the video was extremely helpful. A word of caution, make sure to watch the entire video before you start. I only watched the video 1/2 way through (as I thought I knew it all). When I (thought) I completed the repair, when I opened the door, polley's went flying everywhere. I finished watching the video and saw that I also had to use the bottom bolts, not just the top bolts. Nothing dangerous, but extremely funny. I then completed the repair W/O a hitch.

Replaced Circulation Pump
Pulled Dishwasher out, turned off power. Did not have to disconnect any hoses or electrical, because when I did the original installation, I left plenty of slack, so as to be able to pull it out. Next, tipped it on it's side, unplugged the harness, undid the bolt, turned motor 1/4 turn, pulled it out. To, re-install, just reversed the process. About 1 hour.Followed Excellent instructions on video. Was very impressed with delivery time. Only about 30 hours, from the time I ordered, to receiving part. Reg. ground.

leaked water after putting dispenser in.
after putting detergent dispenser in we started up the maching and it leaked all over the floor. took it back apart and checked the rubber gasket on dispenser. it looked good, not damaged. not wanting to get the floor wet and not knowing why it leaked i put form-a-gasket on the rubber seal and put it back together.. no more leaks..the screws where as tight as i dared to do with out stripping out the plastic so thats why i used form-a-gasket.

Plastic cable broke due to age/wear.
I noted that the replacement kit had two large rollers now vs the original that had only one that rotated, the other fixed. Also, the plastic attachment for the door arm was more simple. It was very easy to pull out the unit, attach the spring end hook to the rear of the dishwaser frame hole, attach the new cable, thread it over the two rollers and pull the spring using the cable to attach to the door arms. Less than 20 minutes to install both sides.

left side door balance repair
Disconnected the water line after removing all the screws which hold the dishwasher in place. Slid the unit out around 24 inches and removed broken Door balance pulley and replaced both sides with the new door balance set . replaced both sides to ensure an even and balanced tension when opening and closing the door! Over all a relatively easy repair. Just be certain you disconnect the water line if you do not have enough slack when pulling out the unit from the cabinet. Good as new!
