Makes ice then floods bin making huge wad of ice
I removed the 3 screws but also removed the front screw of the left bin rail. This gave more room to maneuver I/M into position. The cover shown with the enclosed instructions does not show an Ice Plus (blower assy.). By removing the two mounting clips fron old unit and snapping on new one blower unit fits as original. Overall a very simple and quick repair. Note: None of the cables Inclosed were used as my harness does not unplug from wall. Thanks for the quick service PartsSelect.

Ice maker leaking into ice bin
Turned off circuit breaker. That turns off both power and water. No need to move refrigerator. I backed out the 2 top screws about a quarter inch and then removed bottom screw with a quarter inch nut driver. I then lifted Ice Maker clear of the two top screws and lowered it enough to unclip the power connection. The new Ice Maker was wired correctly for my refrigerator so all I had to do was reconnect the power connection and mount new Ice Maker on the two top screws and install the bottom screw. It took about two hours for the new Ice Maker to start it's cycle but after it did, it worked GREAT. Part Select service was OUTSTANDING, ordered part one day and received it in two days and I live in a very remote location. Recommend PartSelect to everyone.

No Ice
Should have. . . . Just taken the ice maker out in the first place . . . . When I saw no ice I assumed the timer was bad. . . Replaced it. . Then when that didn't fix it again assumed that water valve was bad. . . . Replace that also to no avail. . . . Finally took out the ice maker and saw that the heater had stopped working cuz there was still ice stuck in it. . Replaced ice maker. . . All good. . . The water valve I replaced was a good thing cuz you can definatley tell the difference. . . . Anyway. . . Fixed!

My refrigerator was warm and my freezer was frozen over. There was no air circulation.
First i unplugged the power. I changed the thermostat first. With a nut driver i removed the 14 screws and slid off the back panel inside the freezer compartment. I removed the old thermostat by unclipping it and disconnected the two wires it came with. I clipped in the new thermostat and reconnected the two wires. I slid the panel back on and put the screws back on. This took less than 10 minutes. It is so easy. My seven year old son can do this. I then proceeded to change the defrost timer. I have a built in so i removed the wood panel on top of the fridge to expose the timer. The timer was a bit hard to get to because its inside a metal housing on built ins. I removed as many screws on the front part of the housing until i was able to squeeze in my hand. I removed the two screws that attach it to the box and then unplugged it and slid it out. It was really stuck so i used a screw driver to loosen it from the plug. I plugged in the new on and screwed everything back in. It took about 20 minutes. If its not a built in refrigerator, it will take 5 minutes. I plugged the refrigerator back in and everything is perfectly cool and cold. It is really simple and cheap to change these parts. Don't get suckered into expensive repair bills.

Ice maker started leaking water until I had a large iceberg and no cubes
Spent six hours melting the ice berg, twenty minutes cleaning things up and ten minutes replacing the ice maker. The video was great the only piece of information that was missing was a statement that it may that several hours for ice to be produced. Thanks for the prompt and courteous support during ordering, a good product and support video.

Stopped making ice
I order the suspect part before pulling out the ice tray and whole ice maker for inspection. As it turns out my ice tray was peeling and all gunked up and I needed a new one. I suggest in the case of ice maker issues that you pull the entire ice maker before ordering what appears to be the troubled part. I had to replace the whole ice maker which was not really that much more money than just the part.
