KEYE665BAL0 KitchenAid Dryer - Instructions

Had an idea how the repair would go. The video is a great tool for someone not mechanically inclined. Easy fix and will save from paying a repair person. Suggestion .... put a small block of wood (or something simular) under the drum when you pull the front cover forward to save from having the drum drop down making sure the back seal is still seated and in place. No big deal and easily fixed if it pulls away.

I took off the back panel, removed the 2 screws each for the thermostat and cutoff sensor, removed the 2 wires that went to each, screwed in the new parts, reattached the wires, and bingo, the dryer produced heat again. This was my third and final shot at trying to fix this problem as I had already replaced the thermal fuse (was not the issue), and replaced the actual heating coil (apparently wasn't the problem either). However, the dryer is now working better than ever with the new heating coil, drying in about half the time it took before, so I'm glad that was done.

I first examined the electrical diagram that came on the inside of the rear panel to determine where to check for loss voltage since this problem had all the tale,tale signs of a device not receiving power to turn on so I began at one end of the circuit and using my Fluke meter on the AC scale along with the electrical diagram found the thermal fuse opened.At that time I went to your site to see if I could buy this part and found you had it plus more so even though the thermo switch tested good I felt the need to replace it along with the thermo fuse as a set. I'm an electronic tech for a different type of machines but this was still just an electrical problem like the machines I work on daily.

Checked the element and switches. Found thermal cut off switch open. Order new switch. Installed switch and vacuumed cabinet. Start and test.

I felt the belt had broken since the unit was still running. I went on-line looked at some you tube movies to get some idea what to do. Was very helpfull. Found on-line how to get the part forb this nearly 20 year old dryer. Had the part shipped overnight, was able to track it. Followed your innstallation instruction, With the heavy rubber bands hooks at both ends it was easy. Never done this before, sure saved a good amount of money.

Per the electrical diagram that was in the dryer , using a VOLT OHMETER I found the thermal fuse was open. Then ordered the part , arrived the NEXT DAY via Standard Shipping. Easy to replace .

First off, I ordered the part around 1 pm, paid regular shipping, and it was here the very next day! As for the repair, maybe the easiest fix I have done. Make sure the dryer is unplugged, pop the top up and remove the front of the dryer. Take out the pulley (careful it can snap ya) then remove the drum. The snap rings around the motor can be tricky, so be sure to watch the video sent to you from PartSelect. With a couple of wrenches, loosen the motor from the blower and remove. Put new one in and put back together. Piece of cake. Took me about 20-25 mins. This is the best place I've ordered from and will continue to get my supplies here. Good Luck!

This dryer refuses to die and I am happy to keep it that way. Door latch was replaced in less than a minute using this kit. Easiest repair ever.

After looking at your video, my brother and I put the belt back on, placed the front and back on and that was it. It required two of us but it went well and the machine is working fine. Thank you.

followed the video instruction

took top off,took back off,took lower panel off,removed old motor without taking drum out,got the part # off old motor,looked it up on line then i found the video on how to do the repair...lol. The repair went well and the instructions that came with the new motor were very good as my motor had the old style switch and needed to be rewired. I did go one step further as long as i had it that far apart,I took the duct work apart on the back of the dryer for the vent and I was very glad I did,it had 25 years of lint and all sorts of other thing in it.I cleaned and lubed all other moving parts and reassembled,works and sounds like new !

Slipped screwdriver on top and bottom of catch and pullef out. Pressed new catch in plact. Job finished.

The belt broke at the worse possible time, with a washer full of wet clothing. Watched one of your fine repair videos, did exactly as it said and in less than 15 minutes I had the new belt on and the laundry continued as if nothing ever happened. This was the first time that I'd had a dryer apart, so naturally I wound up taking many more things apart than I needed. After finally removing the front panel, I could see that the old belt had broken and was wrapped around the motor shaft, and that the tensioner was lying loose. Installing the new belt was a snap. Simply put it on the lines on the drum and insert into the pulley. The only challenge was figuring out exactly how the tensioner fit. The only way that it could go, and do its job, meant putting a lot of pressure on the spring. Once I got past that hesitation, it was a breeze.
