KBFA20ERBL01 KitchenAid Refrigerator - Instructions

I wasn't sure about the part I needed so I called the service number, they help me decide on the correct parts for my unit. This was the easiest repair I've ever done. One hex head screw and one clip in electrical connection and we were done. It took less than 5 minutes and now it works like new, no more leaking water and plenty of ice.

I snapped the cover plate to the filter open. Pulled the filter down and twisted counter clock wise to take filter out. I installed the new filter in by inserting the filter and tuning clock wise to secure the filter. I flushed the water for about two minutes and then allowed it to be put back into service.

Undid 4-5 hexhead screws, removed plate, disconnected old valve hoses and wire connectors and replaced valve. Save a ton of money!!

I simply followed the online instructions. Easiest repair job I have done. Once installed, which took about ten minutes, it was producing ice in less than two hours and is performing as it should. Had my frig not been a bottom freezer the installation would have taken less than five minutes. And to let everyone know, the on line instructions came in very handy during the removal process. Followed the video, 5 minutes later new piece installed. Unfortunately, the new plastic is like the old and the same defect could easily recur. thanks

I ordered the replacement parts on line and received it a few days later. Thought I'd wait till the weekend to install the new parts. I expected it to take longer so I waited. Boy was I wrong. The hardest part was unloading the top shelf of the freezer. And it took longer to go get the nutdriver. I should have put it in immediately. Thanks for the instructional video. Followed video advice

Removed malfunctioning icemaker and discovered that inlet water line was frozen. Thawed line using hairdryer and problem resolved. Returned new icemaker to PartSelect they promptly credited my credit card account. Problem solved.

I discovered that the water inlet was freezing, then the incoming water would run into the tray. I watched the video, then removed the ice maker. I discovered the the top two screwed just had to be loosened, not removed. I removed the bottom screw and move the ice maker to the side to disconnect the wiring harness. I found it to hard to disconnect. The pinch clips did not depress as they were supposed to, but the finally release. I did the replace without unplugging the refrigerator and it went fine. Took less than 15 minutes.

I removed and inspected the old unit and found the tray coating was flaking off. I ordered the new ice maker on line, One screw and rotate unit counter clockwise about 10 degrees unlocked it from the two snap in mounts. then unplugged the wire harness and it was free. Had to put the short wire harness on new unit, reverse removal steps and it is completed and working fine.

The existing instructions are very good and need no further clarification.

Just followed directions.Which were clear as could be. I think it took longer to clear the freezer, than to replace the ice maker. Thanks so much.

I opened the cover to the filter and screwed the filter counter clock wise until it came loose then removed the old filter and put the new one in. It was real easy.

Unplugged refrigerator and truned off water supply. I then removed old ice maker by first removing screw holding mounting bracket with 1/4 inch nut driver. Then I carefully pulled up and out on the ice maker to remove it from mounting brackets on the side of unit. Once free, I was able to access the wiring harness in the back and remove it from the unit by compressing the clips and gently pulling with an even pressure. Now that the old ice maker was detached I took it to my counter and removed the on/off switch rocker bar and wiring harness. I attached these two pieces to the new ice maker. I then plugged the wiring harness back into unit and lined up the mounting brackets on the side wall and did a reverse tilt to downward pressure onto brackets until they clicked in securely. The last step was to screw in the mounting bracket with nut driver. Turned on water line and plugged machine back in. It took about an hour and a half before it produced its first harvest of ice, but has been working like a charm since.

Watch the video on the sight and that was almost all I really needed. The only thing I would add is that it took me some time to get the drawer freezer door off. Lift the front straight up. Don't pull the door slides out.
