Remove sides and face of oven door by sliding down from under the oven handle trim.
Remove screws on 2nd light of glass and set aside.
Now you are at the inner door panes. their should be two in an insulated type unit.
Remove the remaining screws from the handle pracket and the permiter frame for the glass/insulation. Remove permiter frame and set aside.
Pull out inner door glass frame. get a pair of pliers and bend tab on frame up so you can pull the frame sightly apart, replace the glass, secure frame tightly around glass slide tab back into reciever slot and bend down ( you may need another person to assist in keeping both lights in the frame while trying to ben tab back in to place)
reassemble door as it came apart carefull not to over tighten the screws, they strip easy.
Inner glass pane broke during self-cleaning operation
I removed all the screws that held the trim and inner frame to the outside window unit first. Then, I removed a protective glass from over the two inner panes. Next after removing the frame that held the two inner glass panes together, I took the broken inner glass pane out and replaced it with the new one. Then basically I just retraced my steps and had the door put back together in about 45 minutes. You just need to pay close attention to your disassembly so that you are able to put the pieces back together quickly.
I had a service guy come in and he told me the repair would be $550.00. I asked for a part list and did it myself. You guys saved me hundreds of dollars.
Shattered inside glass when attempted to self-clean
Door was removed very easily. Outside trim pieces were removed. The rest came apart like a simple puzzle. Inside glass is very easily accessed. Upon assembling, time was well under an hour. Shipping was fantastic and I saved close to 200dollars between a service call and a repair.
Door fell off so removal of door was easy. Removed screws holding the door together to expose hinges. Removed old hinges that were 3 screws for each hinge. Placed new hinges and installed screws then put door halves back together installed screws and then finally replaced door onto the stove. Mission accomplished
Hired a pro. Parts are difficult to get on a timely basis today , if at all. Screw up this repair by damaging the outer " black glass " and you buy a new stove. It took three weeks to get my replacement glass even though PS said the part was being sent within a day of the order. Even so , I am am happy to have gotten it , and will continue to use the company.
Pulled the double wall oven out about five inches and install replacement brackets on both sides. Reinstalled oven doors and slide ovens back. Piece of cake— the lower oven door closes better than when oven was installed 13 years ago. Believe I had a bracket problem from day one!
Rotated the hinge lock with a screwdriver, pulled door off hinge bracket, later door on table, removed screws to detach inner door frame from outer door. Three screws to remove each hinge. Very easy.
After watching a you tube video or two, I easily detached the oven door. One of the hinges was jammed, and upon releasing it with a screwdriver, it snapped open and gashed my thumb. This as entirely my fault, I did not realize how much force was held in the spring.... You must remove the bottom frame piece and inside door pan to get to the hinges. All Phillips head screws, and all the same size. Once these are removed the hinges are easily removed with 3 Phillips head screws. While l was this far into it I removed the two layers of glass to clean them on both sides. This requires a small nut driver to remove the channels holding the glass. There are three layers of glass to clean on both sides, quite dirty and brown. Reassembled the whole thing. The door assembly popped right back in, and now functions like new. You can actually see into the oven, without opening the door!
I received my glass panel realy quick from Part Select. It was an eansy job to install the new pane. It took less than an hour. Thanks for Your prompt service.
