JB900SK3SS General Electric Range - Instructions

Removed 4 screws from back panel, disconnected small electricsl connector from sensor, removed one mounting screw from sensor inside oven,pulled wires through and removed old sensor. Fed wires for new sensor through and connected electrical connector, installed panel, installed mounting screw on sensor and checked oven, worked like a champ. Took 5 minutes.

First I turned off the breaker to the oven, then removed the oven racks. I removed the two small bolts that hold the element to the back wall of the oven. I then gently pulled the element out to expose the terminals, with needle nose pliers I carefully removed the clips without letting the wires slip back behind the oven wall. Then I pushed the clips onto the new element and bolted it back onto the oven wall. I turned the breaker back on and preheated the oven and it worked like a charm.

The part arrived much sooner than I anticipated. The job was a little harder and took a little longer for me because I'm not good at repairing things. I usually have to call someone. However, I followed the step by step instructions that were provided both on the website and with the mailed item and had no problems. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The tools needed were very basic - all of which I had on hand. If I could do it - anyone can.

We've had this range for almost 10 yrs and while on the clean cycle the bake element burned up. We ordered the new bake element on Wednesday and was delivered on Friday. Installation was not difficult as we followed the advice of other installation reviews. However, while removing the old element one of the wires snapped back into the insulation. We had to remove the back cover plate and found the correct wire and just pushed it through. Easy, peasy, japaneasy!

There were no burnt spots on the baking element but I turned the electric power off and removed two screws and removed the two termenals wires and replace them on the new element and replaced the two screws that I removed. I turned the electric back on. Every thing is great and it only took me fifteen minute from start to finish.THANK'S

My husband took care if it, very simple...took him less than 10 mins.

removed old element--had read warnings about wiring would go back into insulation--pliers slipped and one wire "jumped" back into insulation--had to take back off stove to retrieve the connection--other than that incident, the connection was simple--suggestion--make sure you have needle nosed vise grip pliers to prevent wire from becoming lost in the insulation---could not find my pliers so had to use regular pliers.

Removed old lower bake element on the inside by removing nuts at the back of inside of stove which holds element in place. Then removed metal guard panel on the outside back of stove to disconnect old terminals. Then from the inside of oven removed the old element and reconnected the new element terminals.

A cleaning spray was allowed to caused a short circuit of the infinite control switch. Here is the sequence of a very easy way to repair it: Turn off the power to the unit. Take the bottom metal cover off. You should be able to find the one that was burnt out (my was the bigger surface burner switch). Take photos of how each colored wire are connected ( I used my cell phone). Review the photos!! You will see that the switch has two clamps holding the metal cover to the plastic casing on the sides. Using a narrow screw driver, pop loose the plastic casing from the metal clamps. This way you don't have to take the unit totally apart. The metal casing should be fine. Clean it well, making sure it is dry. Take the new switch and also take the plastic casing from the metal top cover. Replace the metal pin and the plastic casing only. Make sure you line it up the same way with the little blue box in the same orientation. You may not have enough room for your hand and your view. By feel, you should be able to place it there and pop it in. Check the taken photos and connect the wires following the same diagram. Replace back the metal cover. Turn the power on. Enjoy dinner!!! Unplugged the old and plugged the new one. replaced the covers and turned the power back on. No problems!!

I found that installing my element was far easier when I found this link it is a video on how to install this part It made it far easier to install correctly.

turned power off, loosing the to screws, left up and pull front, removed the two connection.placed new element inside oven fsten the two wires. push elemen, back in place, allaing screw holes tighten screw, turn power back on. Stove(oveb) working just like new.
