Recently unemployed, we knew a repairman was out of the question. We opted to glue the broken tab,but I knew that would just be living a substandard rerpair so looked on line. Found our replacement part very easily and much to our surprise we had the part the next day, yes, the next day!! Looking at the new part gave us the confidence to pop out the old one without causing damage to our unit. It was a no brainer , pop out and plug in w/in 30 seconds. Small appliance repairmen are a minumum of 75.00 service fee plus parts. Our repair less than 20.00 less than 24 hrs. How good is that?
Took knife and pried out the the damaged switch. Took wires off. Put the wires on the new switch and put it back in the hole. Job finished. The part shipment was very prompt and I am happy. The End!
I popped the switched out depressing the underside of the switch so that it could be removed. I ordered the part. Paid for normal shipping. Received an order confirmation. Received a shipping notification. Received the part the next morning. Open the part and attached the wires. Pushed the switch into the hole and the process was done in less than 24 hours. I couldn't have been more pleased. The actual installation took less than 30 seconds.
The admiral was doing a buzzing noise whenever the evaporator fan was coming on.
The first step was to get the wire rack out of the freezer, which seemed to be permanent until I completely dismantled it with the nippers. Then I used a Phillips head screwdriver to take out the ice maker. Now the back of the fridge is clear to be opened. Just push down on the top of the round part while squeezing in at the sides and pull toward yourself. There is the fan (which was not connected in my case hence the rattling). Push new fan into place and connect pin... Total time 30 minutes to one hour. Except that it took two months for the fan to come in on back order... And the fan has a clip on it, so the extra clip was completely useless.
Ice Stripper was broke off, leaving the mounting tabs still inside their respected spaces in the ice-maker
Had to remove the ice-maker (also easier than trying to work inside the freezer letting all the cold air out). A few mounting screws and an electrical connection in the back. After it was out you will need to remove the cover (not the superficial cover that just pries off) where the gear is behind it, just far enough so you can get the mounting tabs on the ice-stripper in. In order to to move this cover out, after removing the screws (the obvious), you'll need needle nose pliers to ever so slightly squeeze the plastic clips together that hold the plastic movable bracket and the metal ice level arm/switch, so it will pop out. Once you have room to put the ice stripper in, it should just all snap back together, then proceed in reverse to put it all back together.
No instructions with part. Found a picture on line and changed the arm, but it didn't fix the problem. Fairly easy after figured out what needed to be done to get to the part.
Super simplet to fix. Popped out broken light switch and unplugged it and replaced with new switch. Received the part one day after ordering it from your company--AWESOME SERVICE AND TURNAROUND TIME!!! Saved at least $100 plus in repair costs/trip charge for something we were able to do. Great experience and would order from your company again. Thank you!
empty frezzer take door off unplug wires going to ice maker unscrew/bolt icemaker replace door take motor cover off ice maker remove screws on motor replace ice cup and put every thing back together
Open access cover on the fan compartment. Fish out broken fan. Push on new fan blade onto motor shaft and re-install access cover... Job over! It was awesome to be able to find parts and not have to pay a repairman for such a basic fix.
