just snapped the new one in. I am very happy. the part was delivered in just a few days--I was surprised how quickly it was delivered. thank you. I would use your company again.
The best part of the repair was how easy it was to find and order the part. Instead of searching the parts houses around town I just went to the PartSelect web site, quickly found and ordered the part in about five minutes, received the part the next day at my home and was ready to make the repair. Wow! What a pleasure for something to work the way it was meant to. Removed old switch located by prying out with sharp knife or screwdriver. Don't worry about breaking it or cracking plastic. Disconnect(unplug) wires from back of switch. Replace (plug-in) wires on back of new switch. Insert in location of old switch. Finisheed.
refrigerator side door would not stay closed - the lower bushing was worn out
1. mark location of removable baskets in door and remove baskets 2. remove three screws in top hinge - save shim under hinge 3. lift door from lower hinge 4. remove 3 screws from lower hinge bracket and remove bracket 5. install lower hinge bracket with 3 mounting screws 6. install lower hinge pin in bracket 7. clean upper and lower hinge holes in door 8. lubricate upper and lower hinge pins with grease 9. place door over lower hinge pin - the magnetic seals will hold it in place 10. install upper hinge bracket with 3 screws 11. install baskets in door
Note: The plastic piece on the bottom of the door that mates with the hinge pin and provides a cam action should have been replaced at the same time.
Pried out ice blade bar and removed broken water fill cup and replaced with new one.The whole repair costs $9.52 So I saved $ 190 over the cost of Appliance man visit! It would have been $150& $50 for visit to replace ice maker unit.
Removed the food out of the fresh food door. Removed the top hinge cover, removed the 3 nut screws on top. Lifted the door off of the bottom pin. Set the door to one side. Removed the lower hinge pin with a screw driver and replaced with new product. Lifted door back onto lower hinge pin, secured the top pin hinge with the 3 nut screws, replaced the top hinge cover and placed food back into the door. Done in less than 15 minutes.
Be sure to unplug the fridge as there is live power on the circuit board you'll be handling/removing. Trust me on this.
Slide out the ice tray, remove the screws holding on the outer plastic frame (taking the thin/flat wiring off carefully), remove the next set of screws, then slide off the mechanism. The water spout is flexible and you might need to bend it a little. Good time to clean it off as well.
Changing the actuator switch and plastic pad is mostly self explanatory (look at old one, remove, and reverse steps to put new one). Takes about 30-seconds for this part.
The most time-consuming part was removing the screws. First, remove the 8 screws that attaches the ice bin to the front cover. This will free up the auger enough to pull up the back end where the drive ring is held in place. The ring just pops right out. The only thing I recommend is as long as you have the bin out (and empty), go ahead and give it a good wash. Make sure it is thoroughly dry so that no ice freezes to the moving parts.
First, I removed the water/ice fountain panel - remove the 4 screws and disconnect the panel buttons cable. Second, I removed the panel circuit board - remove the two screws and disconnect the two wire connectors. Third, I pulled the water/ice fountain compartment. Removed the broken rubber pad (actuator pad), and installed the new one -- no tools needed for this step. Finally, I put everything back together. TIP: If the water/ice switch gets stuck, even with the new actuator, find a spring that can fit the switch pin that comes with the actuator. I had that problem, and I simply added a small spring.)
it was a cake walk, removed a few screws unpluged assembly installed new switch didnt get shocked, nothing started on fire, ice came out like it should afterwards
Good news/Bad news story. One of your parts view showed the side rails without the drawer rollers another showed the rails with rollers. I ordered the rails expecting that they would come with the rollers attached. They did not so I had to place a second order for two rollers and two screws. As I live in CA, delivery was just a day for first order, but for second I ordered on Sat, delivery was on Tuesday. My complaint was double shipping and handling so total was almost $50.for two very simple items.
