Ice maker was leaking water.
I viewed the previous instructions people had posted to replace the water valve. I did not have to cut any hoses. The valve I replaced was like the new valve. I was able to pull the hoses out of the old valve by pushing down on the collar around the hoses. The hoses popped out with a little bit of a pull. Attaching the new hoses was very easy. The whole thing probably took about 20 min. This DIY job saved me hundreds of dollars.

drip pan leaked
Move unit away from wall. Wrap ratcheting tie-down straps around top and bottom doors so they won't open when tilted. Lean unit back and place a 4 x 4 under front legs. Lean unit forward and place a 2 x 4 approx. 7 feet long against back of strap for top door to hold bottom of unit off floor, place other end of 2x4 against corner where wall meets floor. Adjust this distance, if needed, by placing more spacers of the floor until rear of fridge is almost 3" off the floor. Feel under bottom for 4 #25 torx screws on each side. Remove back 3 screws, loosen last (front) screw so metal base pan tilts down enough to lift compressor. BE VERY CAREFUL LIFTING COMPRESSOR, COOPER LINES CONNECTED TO IT ARE VERY FRAGILE. Remove fan shroud, remove drip pan, part of it is on the same stud the compressor is on.Replace pan, Set compressor back on studs, if the big plug on the left side of compressor became unplugged, don't bother to try to plug it back in until you replace screws of bottom metal pan.Replace fan shroud. Replace screws in bottom pan. Plug in big plug and hold-down strap on compressor if it came undone.

Freezer freezing up in back and frig getting warm
This is the 2nd Jazz board that we replaced in 2 years. We believe that a power surge caused the board to no longer work. We now have the fridge plugged into a surge protector. The instruction sheet to program the jazz board did NOT come with this part. I called Parts Select and they gave me a number for Whirlpool. I spent over 30 mins. talking to Whirlpool, 2 different departments, and they do not have instructions for this part. I was told that they only supply instructions for about 10% of the parts that they distribute. I was able to find the instruction sheet on my own but searching "whirlpool instruction 16022940." I hope this helps!

Light in the refrigerator didn't work
I did exactly as the video showed. I popped out the old switch, disconnected the two terminals, connected the new switch and put it back. The light now works! The refrigerator is over 25 years old and the switch works! What a great website this is. Couldn't of done the job without Partselect's help.

After several defrost thermocouple replacements, and determining the frig was running constantly, the freezer was not freezing, but full of ice behind the back panel, the frig was not chilling, the entire refrigerator was constantly running, non-stop, and after doing a bit more research on-line, I d
Thanks for the control board. However, it arrived in two days not overnight, UPS noted on their tracking site the error was their own. Also, the part did not come with installation instructions or programming instructions. Found on youtube a video that described in detail the programming procedure: . . . . . very helpful.

Thanks,
Marc

Freezer Super Cold, Fridge Hot. Ice on the back of freezer door.
I initially thought the defrost heater or sensor were bad and replaced them. About a week later the problem reappeared. I ordered the control board assembly and after arrival I did the following: Went on-line, located the part on the fridge parts diagrams and figured out how to remove the controller cover (use two flat screwdrivers from behind). After the cover removal unplug the two connectors and lift out the sensor from its mount. Remove the LED Display/Button Board then the microcontroller board. They literally lift out. With the new controller you have to gently break the display board from the controller - the board is scribed along the break-away area. Do this on a flat surface. The actual board installation and hook-up took less than 5 minutes to reassemble. MAKE SURE THE REFRIGERATOR IS UMPLUGGED - I should have said that FIRST.
